Would be good to see how that goes alright

If you are looking at a man like Jardim, you have to give it to him permanently imo. It was not all sunshine and lollipops for him starting out at Monaco and it took him some time to build there. Interim should mean interim, if that is the route you are going.

Wouldn't rule it out. Can't see ogs taking over temporarily, not gonna be any other top manager doing short term.

Aaaaaah. I'm on the other side of the world at the moment so only just woke up to this news and what great news to wake up to.

Never wanted him. Not because I didn't think he'd be a success, although I had my doubts, but because he's a tool. He only appears happy when sticking it to someone else so I never liked seeing him happy, which is a bit of a dilemma when he manages your side.

This in no way fixes all the problems at the club, not even close. But Jose was not the solution and in fact it had become abundantly clear he was only adding to the problems.

Fair point too and your probably right but 8t could be a case of look show us you can settle and get the head down and players in board.

It took him a while to build at Monaco because they kept selling his players I do think he could steady the ship quick enough.

I suspect that United have not spoken to anybody behind Mourinhos back so are going to take the next 6 months to get somebody in place. So it will be a truly interim manager I reckon

Would love to see Mike Phelan back. Someone who has worked to the high standards required.

As any new manager announced in the summer should be given a 1/2 year contract and if signs of progress are shown, then extended. Keep them hungry and don't commit to a huge payout.

Looks like Blanc until end of season and then they probably will try get Poch and if not, move down the list.

It seems more likely that they want a DoF in place before appointing a permanent manager to ensure that they're compatible. Perfectly sensible & reasonable.

Seeminly part of the reason poch might leave Spurs is lack of transfer backing and not selling the players he wants sold.

    Hmmmm.

Don't think it looks like blanc at all. All the talk pointing towards ole.

I think Pochettino will be the new coach next summer.

He didn't say he was happy at Spurs today just preferred not to talk about & The Times are saying he wants the job.

He would be a brillant apointment.

Mike Phelan was hugely unpopular in this thread during Ferguson's days. Added nothing, should be sacked etc was the general consensus.

I specifically remember discussing it in here, being particularly bewildered as to how anyone could know what sort of input or influence an assistant could have behind the scenes

Blanc owing to his PSG ties would be useful

I always wonder, if poch wanted united job could he just not quit spurs in summer and utd wouldnt then have to pay compensation or what way does that work?

    Solskjaer and Mike Phelan, apparently.

    How... Disappointing.

I'd actually be on board with this. Posted before that I like Solskjaer and the work he's done at Molde.

Both he and Phelan have experience at the club and youth level when things were working well so would enjoy them back and see what they do. Also if successful they could go on to have a role to play in youth development for the club.

But as I said before I'm crazy enough to hope Solskjaer would come in and do well enough to succeed and put his name in contention. He would definitely come in with passion and determination to do a good job.

Poch will bring Kane with him, be grand.

The only reason you appoint a caretaker is if you’re no.1 choice isn’t available. D say they know who is coming in next season.

whatever about Poch coming in, there is zero chance of Kane coming as well - the money that would be needed would be beyond United, especially with other positions likely needed as well. And then if we do manage to nab Poch off them... it will be a cold day in hell before Levy would sell their star player to us as well.

Will be interesting to see if United were to go back in for Alderwerield too - if there is any chance of us going for Poch in the summer. Can see us staying clear of Spurs players.

I'd say it is that they know they want to bring Poch in - that is a long way from bringing him in though. will need to convince him and that won't be easy.

Not sure on how difficult it might be to bring him in with respect to Levy, to be honest, though. I don't know if it is just a case of us paying out his contract, or if Spurs can tell us to feck off no matter what money is put on the table.

Yeah but compare how he is coping with those obstacles... The players he wanted sold in the summer have been reintegrated into the squad and he's coped admirably with no new recruitment in the summer at all.

Hindsight is 20/20 but Poch would have been the perfect appointment 3 years ago for the way this club is run.

Or just 60 mil with no Lukaku

    :)

Would cost 180 at least to get Kane off Levy

I'm not arguing agaisnt that (and I did also say Poch back then too).

My Hmmmmm is to do with Poch maybe wanting to leave Spurs for the same things Mourinho has moaned about all season. Leaving Spurs for the same set of problems.

Yeah we arent an attractive club. If Poch is to consider joining (and isnt an idiot) he'd surely want guarantee's that he can buy and sell as he wishes or he can just walk away from the clusterfck.

Somebody on radio mentioned Roy as interim manager.

    Could you imagine...

Honestly don't know. It does seem to differ to player contracts. I dunno.

I would imagine if he quit he would owe them for breaking his contract, possibly the value of the contract. If that were the case it would tie into United needing to pay his contract out

Didn’t Ole fail in his EPL role?

What type of football does Solskjaer play? Attacking or defence first
