He can be first out the door for all I care tbh.

He will probably be first name on the team sheet now jose is gone

Start of the rebuilding process. Problems run deep at the club. DoF needed, get Woodward out of football side of club and move on players who aren't at standard required (pogba definitely being one) as opposed to extending contracts for the likes of Smalling

That's what you took from that :D

Well the retirement thing is irrelevant so no point discussing it.

Health scare, from what i have read, wasn't anywhere near as big as has been made out - even so, you could still offer it to him - if he feels up to it then why not.

Oweing us nothing was one of the three reasons you gave for not doing it - so surely you are saying we can't go for anyone who is

    (1) retired
    (2) owe us nothing
    (3) has been in hospital in the last year.

Yep. People talk about toxic Mourinho etc. This kinda thing would genuinely make you stop supporting the club. That might raise a few eyebrows or get attacked but that shít sickens me. It's worse than love island!

Glazers, Woodward, Board not backing manager but not sacking him, negative football with pure tribe post match interviews/pressers, players videoing themselves dancing around dressing room on instagram way too much throughout the season when under-performing... etc etc

Bring on the top 4 finish,FA cup and CL now!Them players are world beaters that were held back by Jose, all problems have been solved now....choo fcuking choo!

The players have nowhere to hide now and i look forward to seeing the Jose out crew angling towards the next narrative that tries to protect them!

I can actually see a few in here running with this narrative over the next few weeks. We are in a state of Limbo now, the rest of the season will be much of the same until we hire a permanent manager but the rest of the season will pretty much be a write of as it would have been under Jose, unless the club can work a miracle and get someone in quickly.

"Oh look the players are still crap, it wasn't Jose after all" will be thrown around in the next few weeks with little context given to our situation.

The next hiring is vital for the club. We only go back to attacking football if the club find a good fit. If not we could be in for more disappointing seasons ahead.

I wonder how much difference the obvious signing of Shaqiri in the Summer would have made...

Does this now mean that Woodward will be signing players in January? Just make Pogba manager then I guess.

I legitmately thought that Shaqiri would be a **** signing and I stand by that. Looks good in a well oiled Pool side coming off the bench mostly, but would have made no difference to our shambles.

Let us see I guess. Hooe he proves everyone wrong, but that post, if real, sums up his character imo.

I suppose after a loss to another team that hasn't won anything in years the writing was on the wall for Jose.
The team is expected to be above that level.

Hes retired, he owes the club nothing and had a major health scare less than 6 months ago.

    Really?

There would literally be zero expectation on him; sort of like when Kenny came back to us.

I'd imagine you lot will probably wait til the summer and throw a barrel of money at Poch.

Better than Mata and Lingard on the right no matter which way you look at it. He's been around their best players in his few starts too.

What did Pogba tweet - I missed that ?

He deleted it withing a min or 2.

It was just a promotional image of himself for Addidas as he was at the promotional event last night in France, probably still there aswell.

Looks like a presheduled thing as was up on his twitter and Instagram at the same time.

    Poor timing all the same

So we have to find someone who owes us something?

No but the health problem should be enough to rule him out. Leave him to enjoy his retirement in peace.

Next order now is to dispose of his henchmen, Matic and Lukaku.

To me that Pogba tweet looks like a prescheduled promotional action, with marketing hashtags and links (adidas, #heretocreate). Terible timing, but I 100% reckon that is a marketing team thing.

Asking him would be completely unfair as he gave the best years of his life to United and should be left to enjoy a well earned retirement.

But would we really be surprised if he did that anyway? If not, it sums him up really

FFS, i'm not saying force him in to. Have him bound to the bench or something.

To me he makes sense - take out the health scare and it makes sense. If the health scare isn't an actual issue (for him, his opinion) then why the F not. I can't think of a better option short of appointing a proper manager.

Yep. If the club took him back it’s even more morally bankrupt then it looks. SAF nearly died less then a year ago, I don’t want him anywhere near our first team. For his own health I hope nobody asks and he doesn’t consider it.....

We owe him his retirement more then anything.

every one of the top 6 clubs is a good appointment and a couple of good signings away from being truly relevant and competing. and on the flipside each are a bad appointment and a couple of bad signings away from being also rans.

the reason? they all have money to burn, and can buy top-tier talent. none more so than Utd. apparently, they're the only club that if you were to take away the TV money, could still just about be viable as a football club.

if you get the next appointment correct, and sort out the structure of managing purchases going forward, things could be very different in 12 months.

money talks, and always will. and Utd are fúcking minted. you just need to be ruthless.

    To some people.

I would be surprised, and disappointed. I genuinely think that is a scheduled marketing ad.
