Woodward has to go next. Is there any accountability!!! There is no plan to bring the club forward. No strategy and now they are going to conduct a search for a new manager. The recruitment process begins. Its a bit like the FAI. We are a laughing stock.

No plan, no strategy, no clue. The man is out of his depth and needs to go or shifted completely away from the footballing side. The man's poison and is destroying the club.

Not sure why you don’t just ask Fergie to step in til the end of the season.

Supporters should now turn their fire on Woodward. You've got half a season to get the club sorted properly.

If he messes this up then he has to go, he has six months to do his job and surround a new manager with the proper setup, no excuses.

VVD was a world record fee for a CB. An exception. 30/35 million is still big money for a centre back.

You do not need to spend world record fees to have a competent defense.

United have one of the worst defenses in the league, while playing some of the most defensive football in the league. It's extraordinary incompetence.

Laporte and Stones were 50million plus.

Spurs wanted 50million (apparently) for Toby.
    Leicster wanted 80million for Maguire.

What CB do you think United could sign in January for 35million?

Hes retired, he owes the club nothing and had a major health scare less than 6 months ago.

City have 2 £50m CBs and spent £130m on FBs. Utd have spent nowhere near those figures.

The defense was more than competent last season even with multiple partnerships being used.

Almost like something changed in front of them and they weren't being protected to the same degree...

    Was great while it lasted.

Man Utd will be much stronger next season especially. Some very good players who will improve under a good coach.

I suspect it will be Real,Man Utd & Spurs fighting over Poch next summer.

Go all out for Pochettino this summer and bring harry kane with him

If it is any consolation for United fans, this is as bad as it gets. I see some other fans are in talking about resetting expectations and in laughing about the state of the club, but they have seen their teams nearly go to the wall financially in decades of mismanagement. It is wishful thinking on their part and a lot of them will be gutted at this news today. United are in rude health financially, and a good managerial appointment and DOF and we can easily get back to being one of the top clubs. Chelsea went on to win the league the season after coming outside Europe. City went from 4th under Pep to winning the league at a canter the next year. Money continues to talk, but the caveat to all of this is that Woodward needs to be next out the door. Then we can truly get excited.

Makes my blood boil that he should of been gone in the summer when the club refused to back him. The season could of been so much different

The board need to hire a DOF, it's obvious they can't run the football side

    That's it in a nutshell

    So... appoint a suitable manager?

Who is in a job that we'd be going for? Poch (a tough get now or summer).

Allegri is the only other one I don't think we could get now but could possibly get in the summer.

I reckon we could get Howe now if we wanted him.
Jardim would be one I'd love to see - and is available now.
Zidane (would be a worry, imo) is available now.

An external appointment, through to the end of the season is odd, imo. Who on earth could we be getting in for that time? The club don't have a relationship with another manager, like Chelsea had with Hiddink. I just can't think who'd we be bringing in. Would have to be someone currently unemployed - but also with experience.

Honestly, the only name I can think of, and its a fcking weird call is.... Ferguson.

No chance he'd be taking to going forward, could just be a figurehead over Carrick/McKenna (Quiroez or Phelan etc) as he'd delegate anyway like he used to do. Team selections, general plan and team talks.

Jose had to go. Is it not better to take their time and find the right guy than just jumping out and grabbing whoever is available. New manager in, see how the players react to him, if he does very well give him the job, if not let a new manager come in and gut the squad

15-20m is hardly a war chest for united

I wonder how much difference the obvious signing of Shaqiri in the Summer would have made...

Does this now mean that Woodward will be signing players in January? Just make Pogba manager then I guess.

Well done players. Well done Mino Raoila the agent SAF said he couldn’t work with (no coincidence Pogba and lukaku his players). And well played board for convincing anybody that you are anything other then blood sucking leeches who haven’t a f*cking clue what you are doing and worse still don’t give a flying r*ck about on field success unless it equates to monetary gain.

God bless anybody who is dumb enough to think that Jose’s demise was all his own. Oh look we need new defenders for our new manager, sure won’t the club buy some and it will appease the fans who can’t look beyond a manager and signings for why the club has fallen so far....

Can’t take any satisfaction that this bunch will arsenal it for next few games. Pogba will prob be like zidane and his fans will rewrite the last 12 months. He can f*ck off with his Instagram followers to PSG for free as far as I am concerned.

I’m so angry and disillusioned at how the club is run. It’s a shambles.
