Fergie, Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho have all been outlasted by Chris. I'd say he can easily outlast the next two aswell tbh!

A new contract for smalling. Ffs. We need him gonr, not getting a fcking testimonial.

Keeping bang average to mediocre players like him around, rewarding their pathetic performances with more cash than they'll be offered anywhere else is why we're in 6th.

Reward failure and that's what you are going to perpetuate.

Doesn’t it mean that if we sell him we get more money than if he’s out of or near out of contract?

Plenty of gas cylinders lay about old Trafford do the same job.

If Smalling is a gas cylinder what in the jaysus does that make Darmian! Trainee assistant gas cylinder? Darmian was to valuble to be let go over the summer so obviously Smalling since he actually makes the pitch is a critical part of our future.

. Ndombele should be top of the list. Let's get some players that the rest of the league, and Europe, would envy.

Now your talking, unfortunetly for ed he probably is a big enough name.

Maybe if we all band together and follow him on twitter we can make it happen

Is he friends with Paul? They could band together with some twitter hashtags #Pogbele

Darmian has played well to be fair since reintroduced. My gripe would be with Rojo, offered nothing the last few seasons

Errr... who in the blue hell would buy Smalling given his (likely) large pay packet??

I could have seen a West Ham or an Everton (the retirement home for United players of years gone by) go in for him without a transfer fee but realistically it makes no sense to go in for him now. It's mad, as bad as when Wenger was handing out contracts to perennially average and mostly injured players year on year.

Smalling is fine, he generally is fit and available. You have to have a squad of players and they can't all be world class first teamers. The difficulty is that the 2 expensive centre halves we bought, I'm assuming, to be first choice, either can't stay fit or can't stay on the right side of the manager.

He's proven himself not good enough for many years. F him off and replace him, sane with Jones and Rojo. Bring in a couple of cbs. Let them and bailly, lindelof and TFM or tuanzebe fight it out.

Stop giving contracts to players we KNOW aren't good enough.

I remember a lot of people giving out shít about us selling Welbeck, Hernandez, Evans, Rafael, Fletcher, and probably a few others who aren’t good enough for us but they done a job. Keeping Smalling is not the issue, it’s not buying players better than him that’s the issue.

Smalling is English and with talks of the homegrown quota increasing soon he is a good squad filler, it's really nothing to get worked up about we have far far worse problems at the club then keeping the homegrown quota up.

Him being a regular starter is a problem but so is having 5 cbs at the club none of which are seemingly good enough to be the back bone of the team

Jones is the one to say get rid of, not Smalling. Jones is always injured and even though capable of playing well when he gets a run of games he rarely ever holds up and gets injured again.

Smalling is reliable, English etc. Fair enough United should have a better CB than him but nobody has stepped up. Need to keep him until a new player actually makes him surplus.

Rumours supposedly that united may look to offload Pogba in January. I’d nearly think if they did that and signed nobody Jose would be much much happier and things would settle down to a less chaotic inconsistency.

Wonder would PSG do a swap deal with Veratti!

Prob buys Jose until end of season to Maybe get top 4 and win a cup. Wouldn’t it be absolutely mad if Jose got top 4 , won even FA cup and still got sacked. 3 years of cups and CL qualification and he would still be offloaded! I just think it’s an example of how the dislike of him and his methods can override his actual achievements.

It's the Sunday Express reporting it.. wouldn't pay any attention to that.. bit like Waterford whispers news over here, except WWN would be more reliable

Maybe. The problem , even if they did want him out, is finding a club that can afford him and will pay the going rate.

The absolute worst scenario for me is both Pogba and Jose still being here in February. I don’t see how anything can repair the relationship. While Jose is manager Pogba will be “poison” in the camp. While Jose remains Pogba looks like he won’t bother his arse putting in a performance. The two don’t look like they can exist and thrive working with each other!

Surprised there hasn't been any line up leaks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,946 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

If we arent selling Pogba we'd need to have him involved in picking the next manager. It *might* make him arséd to play if he is surrounded by mates.

Just threw a tenner on Liverpool Arsenal and Chelsea all to win today.

If I win the bet money money if i lose the bet one our rivals are slipping up somewhere.

    Could be worse!

I'd take a draw today but cannot see it happening. It should be an easy enough win for Liverpool.

If there was a book written about our season so far, that would be the name of it.

    Don't read books

Movie version of said book could be called dumb and dumber staring Edward Woodward and Jose MOURINHO.

Our rivals this season are Everton, Watford, West Ham, Wolves. What happens between the top 5 teams won’t be effecting us and the rest of this seasons second tier teams.
