    Hi All,
I have a Whirlpool fridge freezer which i have with about 4 years.

The fridge section is working perfectly at +3.

Over the last few weeks ice has been forming in the freezer - and impossible to open trays with the ice.

I am wondering is it a simple part replacement or is the freezer reach end of its life.

    Any thoughts welcome.

Is it getting too cold or is the temperature the same but Frost is forming?

Is it a Frost free freezer /self defrosting freezer? Or is it a more basic freezer that needs to be manually defrosted every now and then?

I'm not sure - I'd it is probably getting too cold in freezer but I see no place to adjust temperature in freezer...

    It a basic whirlpool fridge/freezer..

    Thanks

If it's not a self defrosting freezer then every now & then It will need to be unplugged & defrosted . We have two in our house. An American fridge freezer with self defrost & we never get frost. We have a separate three drawer stand alone freezer & this needs to be defrosted every two years or so. In fact we did it only last week.

Looking at your photos if that is hard ice it just needs defrosting, if it soft and fluffy the door isn't closing properly allowing warmer air into the cabinet, this can often be down to the fridge being well full and uneven on the floor causing a slight warp in the cabinet, look along the edge of the door to see if its sealing all he way round
