Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United manager, is on a fresh collision course with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward over transfers as he grows increasingly angry about a lack of activity.

    More in the article.

And so it begins.... Jose vs Woodward in the press. If the club don't want to back Jose, again, in the transfer market, they really do need to sack him. They either back his judgement or they don't. They either believe the players are the problem or he is.

Or they are stringing him along as the manager they want (poch) is not available at this time..

I wouldn't give Jose another penny for transfers based on how the players he bought have preformed and how he's treated them.

Just sack him and get it over and done with.

So who are guys expecting to start on Sunday ?
would I be right in saying there are a few injuries ?

As a Liverpool fan I think Salah will play through the middle, probably due to the great job Young has done on him in the past ,

I think you lot will target our right hand side of defence, Lovren and Milner look most likely to play as the right sided Cb and right full,

Which would show just how mindnumbingly stupid they are.

I expect a full on park the bus job. Not sure on injuries.

    De Gea
    Bailly--Jones--Rojo
    Dalot
    Shaw
    Matic----Fellaini
    Lingard
    Rashford
    Lukaku.

I expect we are going to get battered, but fook knows with this side. We could jam our way to a win like vs Juve.

I'll actually be sick if Phil ****in Jones starts.

Plus, it only makes any sense if they KNOW they will get Poch in the summer.

If we continue as we are, we'll certainly not make the CL - will Poch want to come? will he want to come enough to force Spur's hand? Will Woodward be able to negotiate getting him from Spurs?

Lindelof out. Smalling maybe out injured too - know he missed midweek through injury. Suppose we couldnt be surprised if Jose decides to put McTominay in there.

United were far better in defense last season when Jones and Bailly was the first choice pairing.

Didn't Jose say yesterday Rojo would not be available and named 3 starters one was Young ?

He could well have done. I've near given up on listening to anything coming out of the club.

Dont think rojo will be anywhere near it. He is also useless. Id say young will start.
    Mata should also start

Ye I can't see him or Dalot starting , Full backs will surely be Shaw and Young ,

Will be interesting to see if we go with 4 or 5 at the back.

What I would like to see is:

    De Gea
    Dalot---Whoever-Doesn't matter-Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera--Mata
    --Lingard
    Rashford
    Martial

However, if Shaw is fit then Young will start over Dalot at RB, otherwise Young at LB.
Fellaini will also start - whether in for Herrera (with Pogba - I reckon he will start) or Mata.
Lukaku will start up top as well - Rashford on the left, Martial on the bench.

Imagine most of those answeres will be no. Honestly he'd be insane to leave Spurs for this dumpsterfire unless he had cast iron guarantees that if unmet would let him walk.

Woodward tryna negotiate with Levy would be hilarious at least.

    Going off physioroon

Sanchez and Linderof are out 100%

And Rojo, McTominay, Smalling, Dalot, Martial, Darmian and Shaw are all doubtfull

I think people like to skirt over his decent showing at Sunderland to get them promotion, to serve agendas when it comes to Keano, he's not a failed manager as such, more an average one

Keano is no better or worse than any of the journey men managers like Hughes or Allardyce. He just doesn't do the politics of the game as well as others.

I think Keane would actually do well enough at a high level team where players would be able to play at his old level but will never get the experience of managing at that level so it's a bit moot.

    More gas talk

Jose Mourinho says this Manchester United team is "far" from being in his image. "A football team is about more than that. (money spent). It is like a house, not just about buying new furniture. You have to spend money on the house, then you spend money on the best furniture."

Jose wants the "best furniture", its seems he forgotten the house is filled with furniture that he picked out. Whats he trying to say here exactly? is it basically we need to buy a new first team again, the one I bought didn't work out so let me bring that total spend up to 1bn and replace all my previous signings?

If you want sitting on the fence punditry then Roy Keane isn't your man. Himself and Scholes namely are openly critical of our team for the last while and I see nothing wrong with that. I'd much prefer honesty to the ****e I usually have to witness on sky sports

So the stats said. But in reality the defence was still very leaky and the fact Utd conceded so few goals was more down to the oppositions inability to take their chances, and De Gea.

I have to agree on Monday night football they done a combined Liverpool/united 11 and Neville had four united players which is fair enough but two of which where Pogba and Bailly two who currently can't get into the United team ,

When questioned on how the 2 of them where in the team he didn't really have an answer , I think you'd have to be a bit stupid if you don't realise he was told by Sky to have more United players in , there is no way they can promote the game the weekend how they want if there faces on Sky are saying only 2 united players get in the team,

Sky are not biased they report on where the money is ,
They make more money when United are playing well due to there huge fan base , its well documented in recent years they have lost subscription when United are struggling going nto the new Year and because of this you get pundits who can't say how they really feel Its not by chance that Keane is never on there

Even Jose's talk today generated little talk here. I know some have issues with the place but speaking for myself I can't remember feeling no sense of nerves or excitment for a United v Liverpool game. Just expecting nothing good to happen. Even a good result would just be like 'grand', means nothing for the season really.

Ibra not signing for AC Milan could we convince him to come back for a few months and dig us out of this hole

I’d of thought that’s not a bad thing.

There isn’t much for united fans to discuss that hasn’t been already said. Different people will interpret what he says depending on what they think of him. You could copy and paste most of the arguments we have all had here over the season. I’m not really sure why people get so wound up about his interviews TBH.

So let’s say united lose heavily against pool. Will fans who have been supporting him turn against him ? Maybe, but if they don’t, I’m not sure he will be sacked. Who can replace him mid season? Is there a benefit to an interim manager for the year? Maybe, but are the owners going to give Jose a massive payoff and hire a good manager for half a season?

So if Jose stays or not , why wouldn’t they sign a top class defender in January (if rumors are true). The club doesn’t need the manager to want a player to sign him and I doubt Jose would be unhappy actually getting a top quality defender. So why not sign a top defender and be able to offer a potential new manager a better/stronger squad in the summer?
