I went a few times but not recently as i found it very bad value for money although i had an enjoyable enough time. The tone is completely different on the live show which seems to especially inhibit ken.

Its the entry plus obvious drink prices which make it expensive. You think that they actually get podcast material out of this and aerlingus pay for US murph its a no brainer for them to do but for an attendee its pretty bad value for money. Especially when you think about you don't actually miss out on anything as its uploaded anyway.

How do you all even manage to get tickets? Were you among the first of the subscribers or something?

Have they shelved the book club? No mention of it recently.

They probably engineered that Damien is on with Dunphy so he can get the cliff notes without reading his book

Delaney's section was based upon the Dunphy book. As was Dunphy's contribution (for obvious reasons).

I don't think 25 is that reasonable. Having said that I think the guests on the show you were at would be a bit more box office than the ones last night.

Also, if you aren't from Dublin, then you also have to pay parking, petrol, and food. So it all adds up.

Jesus 25 quid is nothing for any sort of live entertainment

    1. Don't they normally do a book of the year review kind of thing?

    2. Best value-for-a-fiver I get every month. 25 quid is nothing for a live show. The Neville one a while back was free. Ragin' I got no tickets for any of 'em.

    3. Was US Murph on just the one show? Fùckin threepeat and I still managed to miss him.

Edit: 4. Brian Kerr is the greatest.

I’ve never went to any of the live shows as I always forget to get tickets, but I’ve always viewed them as a bit of a thank you to the lads, while also a good chance to get a group of listeners together. The podcast is excellent value, so even if the live shows aren’t great, I think they more than earn the extra few quid from it.

Malachy is one of the best contributors they have, he even makes Golf seem interesting.

He’s usually good but his criticism of Ulster showing a bit of delight on the final whistle after at a tight win away to scarlets was ridiculous. It was like something you’d get from Dunphy.

Acast is the best free one I've found. Pocketcasts (not the beta) is the best overall for me.

Really good show. I've added another 4 books to my reading list - I reckon Andy Lees is top.

There wasn't a big pile of episode left after skipping the two boxing books, predictability they spent ages on Lee's. I do want to pick up that Rouse one though, was a good reminder.

Good episode today. Murph is always better when Ken isn't around.

Really feel the value of just how good Eoin is was highlighted this week when he wasn’t there. Murph and ken did the show on their own, didn’t find it nearly as enjoyable as usual.
Murph was asking Ken pin point, specific interview style questions, which didn’t allow Ken to ramble off on his usual way. I much rather than the meandering, wind ken up and let him go style Eoin uses.

Can't understand why Mark doesn't fill in.

Sinead was very irritating, loud laughing and was talking too close to the mic. The producers listening should have sorted that but didn't. Missed ken on it as well, isn't he usually on it.

Kellie Harrington is incredibly likeable. Great story.

Painful difference in volume from other speakers. Had to give up on the episode

Surely that could have been adjusted afterwards as well
