Granted not many losses but we know from following the team just how terrible Matip and Lovren were as a pair. The score line shows you how many goals conceded with was very high and doesn’t show you the countless calamity showings and near misses and nonsense that went on at the back with them there. As individuals they can be hit or miss, especially Lovren.

Back to holding the rosary beds for next few weeks.

I really think VVD will play every game and that's a huge difference. He makes players around him better.

obvious is obvious, but big game tomorrow.

Bournemouth are no joke. i know Utd beat them despite being shat the moment, but they're a good side. they should've been well up in that game. they gave City a great game, and should've scored at least one more than they did.

they defend better than they used to, and in Wilson, Fraser and King, they have a proper counter attack. they're utterly different to what they were last season.

the only thing is that we are the best counter-pressers in the League, so if they play as openly on the counter as the normally do, we can hurt them. i expect Salah to start. i expect Firmino and Keita to also start.

i'd love the game to be over by 60/65 minutes so that Salah can get off the field before midweek with the points safely in the bag. but i'll take a win whatever way we get it.

There's little point in comparing the old setup and now - back then the side was far more cavalier, the full backs were consistently caught beyond the midfield and the central midfield was like butter.

The experience of last season has galvanised the squad and mentally the team is much stronger now. The outfield players trust and work for each other which is something that we didn't always have in the past.

    Lovren won't be risked tomorrow.

so that means VVD and Matip for the time being. VVD ain't getting a rest any time soon.

Play three at the back Matip/VVD/Gini on a very high line and Alisson sweeping. Fab in front of the three. TAA/Robbo on flanks.

Reckon by the way Klopp was talking today that Camacho might get a run out in a few games at right back

That would be er exciting! Is this when the Europa League games kick in ;)

Fab can play as centre back too. Nathaniel Phillips any good?

I was thinking maybe he'll play Milner there. Extra passing option and a very good crosser of the ball aswell.

Fabinho seems to be settled now into the team, with Keita getting there, so surely for the next 2 months of league games, Hendo, Fabinho, Gini, Keita can rotate 4 into 3 with Milner having the odd game there too when TAA plays RB. Maybe even Clyne can play some away games like Wolves & Brighton.

Klopp on Trent Alexander-Arnold's workload in December, with Joe Gomez absent: "I have a plan. We will see what we will do, but we have still other options, of course. A lot of players who can play that position.

He didn't namecheck anyone but not good for Clyne.

Actually says Clyne has been out the past two weeks and not available this weekend.

Fab, Milner & Henderson can all play right back.

Robertson fit. Mane unlikely to play.

Dyche was angry Klopp was giving out about the tackles being made but Klopp said nothing to the 4th official about Sturridge diving.

Now he has a point Sturridge did dive however wouldn't it be his job as Burnley manager to complain to the 4th official about that not Klopp's.

Are there stats out there to see how many times Liverpool catch a team offside, we must be right up there if there is such a stat, the backline is drilled superbly and marshalled no doubt by VVD. The way they push up in unison is a joy to behold and I'm sure doesn't happen overnight.

It better not happen overnight, they'd be knackered during the daytime then when playing!

Only dawned on me there that Chelsea play City at home this weekend.

Would it be foolish to hope they can win?

Liverpool have the early game at 12:30, although Bournemouth away is certainly difficult. However, if City go into their game a point behind us though, it could really make it interesting!

    However I'm hoping.

At least Sarri will set them up to have a go and the crowd should be up for it with it being an evening kick off. Could end in disaster if City get the first but at least they won't go out and take their beating the way Conte set them up away from last year. I have a tiny bit of hope we'll beat Bournemouth followed by a Chelsea/City draw (hoping for a Chelsea win is a step too far!)

Regardless if we win or not we want a Chelsea win ,

Re reading my post it could be read that I don't want a Chelsea win, I 100% do, it's just that hoping for us to win followed by a City loss seems to much of a reach!

Looks like Mane is out as well.

I wonder will Klopp go with a 4 2 3 1 and play two 6's to give the defence a helping hand.

Do we think Keita will be saved for Napoli game?

His own player threw himself to the ground with matip behind him,got the free, nearly scored.

    Fck up dyche

If he's due to play on Tuesday then why not start him tomorrow to get more game time in his legs and, more importantly, in his head - he showed some of the dazzle we saw in the show-reels from his Bundesliga time on Wednesday against Burnley, so build on that against a decent opposition tomorrow. Gut says Klopp will play his strongest tomorrow - that's why we saw the wholesale changes on Wednesday. Looking forward to tomorrow, nervous about Tuesday.

I think Klopp will go for his trusted midfield three of Milner, Gini, Henderson midweek, that's if Mane is ready to go. With the the aim to keep it tight as we only need a 1-0 but also knowing our front three could put the game to bed in the first 45 minutes. But if we do happen to need a goal he has the options of Keita and Shaqiri from the bench.

So for Bournemouth I want to see the diamond broken out.

    Alisson

    TAA - Matip - VVD - Robertson

    Fabinho

    Gini Keita

    Shaqiri

    Salah - Firmino
