    11 draws that season.

The Arsenal invincibles though had 12 draws but 26 wins.

Alisson was on the other side of the goal he did exceptionally well to get a tip to the initial shot. Looking the best goalkeeper in the league right now, he's doing exactly what the club paid for.

The lowest ranked team we've lost points to this season are Arsenal, who are 5th, behind Spurs on 4th only on GD.

Absolutely no way could he have held it - he'd only just gotten his hands down onto it, when yer man smashed his foot full force through the ball. Nobody could have held that. Honestly though it should have been a free out, since technically he had control of it... can see why it wasn't given though as it all happened so fast and there's no way a ref could really see clearly that he had both hands firmly on it.

If i was going to criticize him for anything some of his long passes went straight out for throw ins, definitely not the goal. He’s showing his worth on a weekly basis no matter how much some try to push the agenda of him being a calamity waiting to happen.

Alisson & Van Dijk are what Liverpool have needed for the last 10 since Reina Agger & Carragher all went past there best after 09.

2 leaders as well. Robertson seems like a leader too.

Important the front 3 are rested for Bournemouth. They are a good side & were very unlucky to lose at home to Arsenal & Man Utd.

And ya know what I'm most impressed about? He cocked up against Leicester but he's not thought about it for a second, cut out the risky passing and pushed on. He's a strong character who doesn't need to be babysit by his cb either.

Yup, been so impressive mentally, especially in comparison to bad recent mistakes from Kepa and DDG

    Yep, and Robertson too.

Just had a look there, and Bournemouth basically played the same 11 against City at the weekend & midweek against Huddersfield (10 started both). Hopefully that has an affect on them at the weekend and they have to rotate a lot / tire easily. Them winning last night was actually good for us as that could have been the game they targetted as the game that was the most winable and they got the points.

Alexander Arnold is shocking for the goal.

“Sean Dyche saw signs of the old Burnley returning in tonight's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool - starting with some good, strong tackles”

Was it not 2 games. Was the draws that killed us.

One of the losses was away to Spurs where we absolutely battered them without scoring, they got a flukey goal and ended up winning.

    Still annoys me.

at a much higher level even though people will swear blind it's not as good as it used to be. They also scored just 73 goals and let in 26 which is pretty dismal for title winners by 11 points

Why was Dyche so pi$$ed off with Klopp at the end of the game?

Don't think it's even close tbh.

I’ll counter that argument. Man Utd treble winners won the league with 79 points, beating Arsenal to the title by a mere point. So football back then wasn’t as high a level as it is now then either? That Man Utd team was special, yet wouldn’t compete now based on your statement? Utd had 13 draws and 3 defeats that season btw.

I'd pretty much agree that they wouldn't compete with current teams because back then the top four (Liverpool, Arsenal, Utd and Spurs) were so much ahead of the lower half of the league compared to now where bar cannon fodder like Cardiff all other PL teams are well resourced and capable, on their day, of beating a top team.

For a team like City to get over 100 points means they are operating at a level way above what any top league team have ever done before.

Great comeback in the 2nd half. Keita was very good tonight, by far his best display for us. Great save by Alisson at the end to make up for the Burnley goal. I thought Studge was excellent in the 2nd half when the team started playing well, it wasn't easy to do much first half when he's thrown in with a mish mash side. Nice to see Firmino score too, hopefully he will take confidence and start playing well now. Gutted about Gomez, huge loss at a crucial stage of the season.

We're going in to a new era I think and staying with the pace is going to be a genuine arms race in terms of both money and coaching talent.

    Liverpools last 38 games = 88 points

Klopps observation about Keita and the midfield
Always when Naby had the ball, at least something changed a little bit. We wanted to have positions to involve the players. To be honest, I don’t blame anybody or criticise – I would if there would be something to criticise. But we all know Shaq can play much better – turn in situations, get the ball and be a bit more decisive. The only ones who really tried to do something was Millie with runs in behind and Naby with the ball. Hendo shouldn't be involved in that – he had to protect all the runners. So Naby made all the difference in a lot of moments. I think his blocked shot was the biggest chance we had in the first half, I’m not 100 per cent sure but at least it looked like a proper chance; Burnley blocked it. In the second half, the one-two with Mo [Salah] was a good finish and a bit lucky in that moment for Burnley. In the beginning it was really good and at the end. In the middle, we didn’t use him – I was shouting, ‘We have to use Naby!’ because he was not involved, we played long ball and big switch

The fact we have accumulated the most points ever at this stage of a top flight season is nuts when you consider the teams we've had down through the years, **** man City anyway

    Is that league games?
Quite impressive considering our form dipped at times late last season when we just couldn't rotate on either front.

First time in 8 yrs that all the teams in the fixtures scored
    Wonder what the odds were

Lazy decipher but does that mean there hasn't been a 0-0 draw yet?

Can anyone explain the difference between Mikytarian’s disallowed goal and theLovren/Kane non-offside that lead to the pen last season? The experts claimed that once Lovren played the ball, Kane was then not offside. So De Gea plays the ball but Mikytarian is deemed offside? I genuinely think nobody knows how to apply what is a stupid law.

You can’t be played onside by the last man .

Only watched the game now, before we went down pretty poor but after the goal we were pretty much excellent. VVD being the man he is and getting that ball across for the second, Alisson makes a great save, keeps the ball in and I'm shouting go to ground and kill a few seconds :o, nah mate we're scoring a third

Gomez being injured is a worry, I'm hoping it is some sort of badly bruised/strained ligaments that hurts at first but just needs a few days/weeks to recover and not anything more. Lovren being fit is vital and not playing Matip, his performance and Origi barely kicking it (might not be his fault) today were the main downsides.

Also lol at the other 'top' keepers in the league today :pac:

Sturridge needs to be told (again), you're much better when you hit it either first time or take one or two touches before you shoot/pass. Once he holds it longer the attack is dead. Especially shooting because of the power and accuracy he has when the ball is under his feet, no back lift required with him.

    Keita was great btw
