    Where is the individuals responsibility

So you're pointing the finger at him?

Individual responsibility is so 90’s OP. Remember, it’s never your fault if something bad happens!

There would be even more uproar on this thread if the title was:

Civil Servant awarded 30k after he punches a punching machine and break his finger....

    :D

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

It wasn't his finger, it was his wrist.

Heard on the Last Word this evening that the judge decided that because the punching machine was in a place where alcohol is served the pub is at fault not the tool that can't hit a ball filled with air without hurting his poor wristy wisty.

    The judge is an a**hole.

Judge said alcohol and peer group pressure contributed. He was in his 30's ffs, not 14.

Is there anyone left out there who still thinks that it is a bad idea for Insurers settling these things early for low money rather than trying to defend them in court?

Genuinely think people who crowd around those machines are gobsh*tes anyway.

Mind you, I also think a pub having one there is an accident waiting to happen. People get compo'ed for slipping while locked on a premesis ffs.

I don't like the compo culture as much as anybody else here, but the pub don't have anyone to blame but themselves really.

Because then word gets out "hey, easy money for scratches and owies!" and then you'd have... Ireland.

If you sprain your wrist masturbating to pornhub, can you sue them?
