Waterford proposed to amend the regulation whereby in the event a county is unable to host home games, it would be possible to nominate venues outside the province. This proposal was defeated. Discussions are ongoing in relation to Waterford hosting their 2019 Munster Senior Hurling Championship home games versus Clare and Limerick in Walsh Park Waterford.

Ffs Wish both parties would make a decision and be done with it

Walsh Park please as it would cut out the travelling and would be pretty nice

For the league are we using Fraher Field and Walsh Park ??

Translation: keep the 'discussions' going until after the sale of the non-refundable season tickets have completed.

Talk currently that if Walsh Park development works have not started then the Clare game will get the go ahead there.
The board don’t believe they will be allowed to host the Limerick game due to the size of the crowd Limerick would bring and the incoming Munster Council chairman being a Treaty man.
It’s farcical in my opinion considering Kildare showed that this could actually be done. The board need to show some mettle and fight for this now and not just be pushovers once again.

The “Fraher or forget it” looks like it’s been forgotten already.

So Walsh Park is got enough this year? This makes the 2018 all away games all the more galling...

    It's a farce of a situation, a shambles

What ever happened to ‘Fraher Field or forget it’?

Any update on that punishment of losing one home advantage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 210 ✭✭Deiselurker

They lost the appeal during the week so nothing has changed since then. Offaly game to be played at neutral venue but haven't heard where yet. Losing home advantage will cost the county board as can't see many fans travelling for a league game v Offaly in January or February.

Yeah stupid when u think about it only people losing out are the fans. Stubborn GAA heads and there rules. Dublin and wexford got left off cause they just decided to have a kick around while on a trip abroad

We have an away game too Laois the following week on the 3rd Feb

Abbeyside have beaten DLS in u21 county final today, final score of 3-13 to 1-12. Michael Kiely with 2-3 enhanced his reputation as a rising star.

The lads from the u-16 footballers have released a fairly detailed statement. Paints a different picture. Board and coaching and games should be ashamed of themselves treating these lads like that

Who apart from Darragh Duggan is part of the minor hurling team management?

County Board have raised the clu season ticket to €150 from €130 and €100 just 2 years ago, no wonder attendances are so low

Honestly this stadium **** has totally turned me off the GAA altogether. Like who are the people that voted against changing the rule to allow us playing games in Nowlan Park? Will there be a statement as to the rationale behind the decision? Why is the fact that the ground is not in Munster even relevant?

Then you have a complete numpty of a county board chairman. Makes me wonder why would someone of the caliber of Brick Walsh come back and give up another year of his life for these clowns?

Think the criticism here should be largely aimed at the Munster Council.

Ballygunner will need too play the game of there lives in Feb if they want to beat Ballyhale. Ballyhale looked very impressive in the Leinster final

From the way the statement is worded, Darragh Duggan seems to have attended the meeting to be seen to be compliant, but not prepared to engage properly at all.

Football management teams have been absolutely bet down for the last 15 - 20 years, interesting to see a number of people involved at the moment who are prepared to vent their frustration in public.

The attitude of Darragh Duggan seems terrible. Remember, these lads are only 16! He has a panel of 50 players, more or less half won't make the official panel, so players might give up the football and still not make the hurling. Again, they're 16, at that age you should be playing any sport you want - proper management of these players and it wouldn't have a detrimental effect on any of the teams.

Lads just wondering what Peter Flanagan hurleys are like? Want to buy a few sticks for next year and he has a decent looking website, are they good?

I wonder is Jordan Henley also 2nd choice goalkeeper?

I use them and like them. But you know yourself, hurleys are a personal choice so what suits me may not suit the next person.
