Cork Pubs - Friday 30th

Hey guys,

In Cork this Friday for the Munster / Edinburgh match. Staying in city center - anyone recommend some decent pubs for before and after match ?

And maybe a good Chinese restaurant ?

From Limerick BTW ....

Different tastes/different kinds of pubs/bars.

There isn't a huge selection between Musgrave and the city centre, so I'll include a few on that side of the city centre:
- Tory Top (very near Musgrave. It's.... interesting? It's the Hassetts of Cork?)
- Turner's Cross Tavern (newly renovated, good for food & drink)
- Coughlan's (small old pub, with good beer garden, usually live music)
- Fionnbarra's (another small-ish pub with a nice, big beer garden)

(Alternate route into town :
Hawthorne - nice setting right by the Lough, then Bradleys, Bar Pigalle, Tom Barry's, Barbarella, then maybe the Courtyard)

And then you're in town, so pick from anywhere..
- Beer gardens Deep South, The Courtyard, Franciscan Well
- Newish-style bars (Soho, Rising Sons, Electric, BDSM)
- Oldish--style (The Oval, Mutton Lane, Arthur Maynes (including upstairs)

End up in:
- Crane Lane, Bodega.. Voodoo Rooms if you're young enough.

For a Chinese place you can check the restaurant recommendation thread in this forum, personally I'd say Yuan Ming Yuan is by far the best and most authentic. Have fun!

Didn't know that, thanks. Been meaning to include the place in my before/after routine for Munster games, a restaurant helps!

I went to the similar fixture last year. Took the pub crawl route mentioned here, or similar after the match.
The Tory Top - good atmosphere
The Turners Cross Tavern - new refurb
Dinos(chippper)
Coughlans - nice little pub with character
Fionnbarras - nice little pub with huge beer garden

Then you're in town so the world is your oyster

What route did you take? Be interesting to see if I should take any new pubs for the next match in Feb
