Cloudflare’s speedy 1.1.1.1 DNS service now available on iOS and Android

So if you use the VPN app on android or iOS, all traffic would be routed through there servers.

    Nope.

They use the VPN functionality in order to expose DNS settings. You don't actually connect to a VPN. Only DNS reqs go to CF.

It's just a way to trick the mobile OS's into using their DNS isn't it

You could also set it up on your rooter (if it allows it), my O2 mobile broadband rooter doesn't have the setting. Scroll down again and click on rooter.

Both Monument Valley titles are down to $1 (€1.09 here) on the Play Store

Fantastic games, usually about $5 (€5.49) each. Not sure how long this price change will last.

    One:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustwo.monumentvalley

    Two:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustwo.monumentvalley2

Have played both, but don't think I completed the 2nd version, was playing occasionally not to rush them and forgot about it.

Currently using Podcast Addict and it's grand but has a habit of crashing randomly during streaming. Going to give Acast or PocketCasts a go. Is there any way of migrating data between these apps? Like subscriptions and episode already listened to marked off etc?

I've been finding Google's podcast app better than any others I've used. Very minimalist, no ads.

39 temporarily free and 89 on-sale apps and games for Thanksgiving

Borderlands 2/The Pre-Sequel and XCOM: Enemy Within are 80% off on the Play Store
2K is having a sale on several titles from its catalogue, with games like Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Borderlands 2, and XCOM: Enemy Within discounted at 80% off. It's a great deal, but there's one important thing to note: the Borderlands titles are Nvidia Shield-only titles, while XCOM: Enemy Within is compatible with all Android tablets and phones.

    ^^^ XCOM®: Enemy Within ~~~ €9.99 to €2.09

Seemed very basic when I looked at it after launch. Maybe it was the inability to import an existing list of podcasts subscribed to elsewhere which was the deal breaker. I'm assuming this is functionality that would be in some of the other major players like Pocket Casts which I'm tempted to try.

I could never find a way to add my Second Captains subscription to Google Podcasts.

You should be able to export your subscriptions to an OPML file and import on your new player. i don't think you can mark off episodes listened to etc though. I'm trying Castbox at the moment, seems stable and has plenty features.

[APPS] Solid Explorer IAP full version ($0.99 - $1.99)

^^^ Since I already have the app, can't check Ireland Prices. It is being prompted at 50% off.

No deals post up yet, and as I'm going out later, I might miss when it is posted.

But there hasn't been many post's for BF deals here: - /r/googleplaydeals/new/

Does anyone know of an app that would let me select a notification schedule for some apps on my phone ? For example I don't want Twitter/Facebook notifications during the weekend but I do during the week.

    I always said the same.

The new version 7 that rolled out the other day. It's left two icons in my app drawer, takes ages to open, and won't default open on my list of new episodes any more (always launches on the grid of followed podcasts). Queueing is clunkier now too.

Deffo a step backwards for this app. takes a few more clicks to get anywhere and the main screen default should be changeable. They were sold a few months back (To NPR I believe) so this could be the new owners starting to take control. The changes are only on the beta so feedback is needed to stop the roll out to the main apps.

The real main step back for me is that I can't have the app launch to my 'Audio' filter (or any filter) list, it always goes to the all podcast grid. I've reported that one anyway. It also takes a right while stuck when launching, way slower.

Yep I hear ya, thankfully the app startup speeds feel unaffected on my current daily driver (Poco) so far, but it takes a few taps more to get to my audio filter too. found using the widget helps at least get to the one your playing right away.

Lol I so like a podcast with him on it... but to be honest I probably changed phones as much as a reviewer would if I had the opportunity and to be honest the pocophone is right now currently my daily driver having not bought the oneplus 6t because damn I need a headphone jack!

Are you getting ads on it now too? I just had a Renault ad (Irish based) before the start of a US podcast there.

I moved over from using an ipod solely for podcasts to using my phone and found the syncing between android and PC app perfect for me. Seamless moving from one to the other and autodeletion of the played podcasts etc was great too and looked after itself.

Since the update to the new UI a month ago it's a dog's dinner.
It's downloading podcasts on mobile data when I've set it to wifi only. It's not syncing, marking as played or even auto archiving.

I'm hoping this gets fixed asap.

It's in beta. It's meant to be buggy! You should grab the old apk from apkmirror or something if you don't have the nerve for the beta programme. :-)
