Sum terrible acting for that backstage segment

    "Get out of my face"

“Roman has to answer to the man upstairs”

Whatever about Ambrose turning on Rollins on that night, using his cancer like this is just tasteless

That was disgraceful, up there with Paige mentioning Reid Flair's death.

So at TLC is Braun vs Corbin in a TLC match. If Corbin wins he is permanent Raw GM, if he loses he loses all authority and Braun faces Lesner at royal rumble

Expect shenanigans of sorts in that match

I thought Steph already promised Braun a title match with Lesnar last week

How many times have they mentioned dismemberment already?

The show has such a nasty tone at times, exploiting deaths and illnesses too.
The pissing thing is yet another example of the company using talents worse than others do. I can't imagine what Vince would do to with a Bobby Heenan now. Turned the AOP into a punchline too.
Rousey barely sold the beatdown from Survivor Series but she never sold it then either or all the chairshots, etc Lynch gave her. I know the company don't want to make her look weak but it just makes beatdowns pointless. I remember when that throat spot was a way to write off characters with injuries but now it looks as silly as Charlotte did taking ages to put the chair around her neck.

Yeah help team raw defeat smackdown at SS and he got his match, but that was a week ago to us, but in wwe land, that never happened

Sure, 20 mins after the end of the 10v10 elimination match in survivor series, it never happened according to the wwe.

I remember a time when being thrown over the top rope was practically a career ender.

IC Title open challenge returns tonight!

    Saw Mustafa Ali teasing himself.

But it will be Drew, won't it.

Wyatt returned at the weekend so it might be him. I can't stand Wyatt though so hopefully not.

I dont mind Wyatt, the character if used properly could have been great, but they've ruined him now

After saying Mustafa, I thought you meant Drew Gulak. Realised then you meant McIntyre

Turned Raw off after that Ambrose segment.. sticking to “highlights” now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,339 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Was expecting Ambrose too say something horrible about Reigns illness but thankfully he didn't. Odd promo to say the least,, why a medical room with him getting needles ?

Lucha house party no thanks good night

The lead up to the segment highlighted what he said last week about Roman..

That...that might have been the worst episode of Raw I’ve seen in years.

An open challange wasted on a match we’ve seen repeatedly in recent weeks.
The face Luncha Hose party gimmick is they gang up on the heels in handicap matches.
I don’t mind the Corbin stable...,but it literally did not progress one iota between last week and this, or between opening and closing segment.
The Nia promoThe Ambrose getting his shots promo.
    Bailly is literally a child.

The only good thing I’ll say, and I know most will probably have hated it, is I actually liked the progression to the awful Maverick piss angle. Pissing on Roodes jacket, and then having that ****-eating grin afterwards, actually restores some of his heel credibility. Turning something that they were using to make fun of him round on the faces was smart.

But holy hell, the rest of the show was just utter turgid.

Is this what its come to for heels to get heat in 2018, after Ambroses comments last week and now this, i think we may have finally hit rock bottom.

Meh, the context of the character is important. Drake is going to be limited with how much heel credibility he can get against guys twice his size, and the character (at least on Raw) is he’s a chicken**** heel with two bullies backing him up. So in the context of the level he’s at, I think it was a rare moment of character development. He turned the insults back on those making fun of him, but the smirk made it clear he was hateable for it.

That’s not defending the original pissing angle last week. Nor is it me saying I think the development would work with other characters.

But in the specific context of the story being told, I thought it actually worked well.

Unlike literally everything else on the show.

In terms of pissing angles my top 3

1.Austin 3.16 said I just pissed my pants...

    2. Jericho pissing in regals tea

    3. Drake Maverick

Sorry for all the ones I left out.....

Special shout out to Dx and Spirit Squad

Reddit got me good this morning. That's where I get Raw news and clips and there is a thread titled "Live Reddit reaction to IC open challenger" and I was thinking "NXT call up? Someone returning?" and it's just 100+ posts of "Piss off, Ziggler."

I liked the Maverick skit. The glorious gimmick deserved it at this point.

So started watching Starrcade after finishing Raw. And the first match has Dana as a face. And then on Raw she's attacking those she was teaming with on Starrcade? Though I think she was heel before? Or is it a case that we're not meant to care enough about her to notice?

With the beatdown on Elias and Finn, are we in for more beatdowns with no one coming for the save until Braun returns? So even though they attack 5 or 6 guys, none of them think to team up to stop Corbin and co.
