1st Gaming PC budget 650

Hello all, a friend has asked me advice on gaming pc for their son. I checked on PC World and on the custom build websites...but build your own seems to be a far better deal. I have built 2 before (1 for gaming and 1 for work) but that was almost 2 years ago...so I am a little out of touch with regard to what has come on the market since. ..i.e. both were intel...but AMD now seem to be more popular ?
appreciate any guidance while i make a start on pcpartpicker

Hello ...back again with few changes to the original request. They have got a monitor so the budget is now reduced to 500 eur.

For that budget you're better off going second hand. Would a console not be a better choice if it's only for gaming?

i thought it maybe better to go with newer parts even if it would be a lower spec. if I could get in around the same price.

Ryzen 1200 with a GTX1050 is pretty much all you can afford on that budget though it'll run those games you've mentioned pretty well.

The guy on DoneDeal might take a good bit lower if you make a half decent offer. Spec wise it would perform very similar to the above new.

this deal looks good to me but was wondering what type of GPU would match (to allow Fortnite at high/epic settings for example)

This is not a good build, CPU way outdated and no GPU, it's worth half that at best.

KO's build is rock solid. At this point you'd not get much better second hand for that price, and this way you've got a full warranty/brand new tech.
