Hi all, I have been PAYE forever and have recently established a part time business. How do I go about the tax end of this. I have no idea about the tax system really and not sure how i register as self employed also. Any advice would be great.

You need to fill out a TR1 form to get registered. You'll be completing a Form 11 tax return annually. It's handier do this online via ROS (Revenue Online Service), and you can avail of extended filing dates if doing so (and paying your liability) electronically.

Revenue have guides on their website that explains all this

Why do you suggest Form 11 for self-employed?
My understanding is that form 11 is needed IF the self employed income is over the threshold of €5000 (submission through ROS). IF it's below the threshold then form 12 through MyAccount.
