Blue Screen Acer Aspire 5552 laptop?

I was just browsing online, and had about two tabs open on my laptop.

Then, my laptop froze and then a blue screen appeared, with a message " A problem has occurred and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer".
Almost instantly, my laptop then restarted itself. I have had the laptop almost 7 years, and had the original hard drive replaced (where it had failed) 3 years ago.
Anything I can do to back up EVERYTHING (e.g. photos, documents, music, etc.) if the hard drive fails??

Just buy an external hard drive and copy everything across
