I imagine the council will refuse to take on the road in that state. That developer is still on site

Yup and makes a complete mess of it.

Newbridge should have a one way system in place, it would stop the traffic build ups and completely stop the need for most of the lights in the town.

Yet they continue to install new lights causing mayhem and traffic build up.

Talk of lights being installed at the other end of the non existent ring road at the Moyglare Hall entrance now too

The Moyglare Hall piece isn't much better and has been taken on by the council / kwetb.

Part 8 progressing for the bridge section now (Celbridge Road to Leixlip Road)

Construction underway on the southern section also, by the developer (Celbridge Road to Straffan Road)

Still awaiting any progress on the legal challenge to the Part 8 on the Meath section (Blacklion to Moyglare Hall)

Absolutely nothing on any of the Western sections. Wouldn't expect anything for quite a while; although it is possible that the Straffan Road to Rathcoffey Road section could turn up unexpectedly in the M4 widening plans that are going to design now

With probably the biggest issue in the town being M4 -> University traffic should the south western quadrant not be prioritised over all else?

Its already possible to avoid the Main Street going from Straffan to Leixlip road and will be even easier with the new developer led section but going the other way you'll still be forced into the bottleneck

The expectation seems to be that the University will run out of parking spaces and everyone will take the DART (which should be there by then) instead... reality will not be that easy!

Is the plan for the ring road to have access to the m4? From the plans that are approved it seems to end at Griffith rath hall which makes no sense as the straffan road is still bumper to bumper and only going to get worse with more developments

Not the sections under design/planning/construction now. There may be a second interchange in the future.

They were asking about whether the ringroad would access the M4 - it doesn't, yet. That section has you rejoining the Straffan Road to access the M4.

The second M4 interchange (along the unbuilt and not even solidly planned southern arc of the ringroad) is now pretty much a given, but whether the old one closes or not is not guaranteed.

We do have a detailed plan for the "Eastern Ring Road" as they call it.

Insanely slow, but at least it's moving.

Glenveagh Homes had an information evening last night. They plan to submit a planning application early next year for 750 homes on the Moygaddy site and to complete the link from the education campus to Dunboyne road as part of it. They estimate once/if planning is granted it will take 3-4 years to deliver the housing but wouldn't commit to delivering and most importantly opening the road first so that could be 2029/2030 before we see it.
