Hotel break Christmas gift

    I am looking to get my sister and her husband a hotel break away as a Christmas present and am trying to figure out the best way to go about this, should I just book a weekend in a hotel as a surprise, or get a voucher? Any websites you could recommend? Thanks :D

    Maybe get a voucher for a chain so they can choose a place, unless you know of somewhere they particularly like?

    Be careful if going down the voucher route. I used to treat my wife to spa vouchers until a few years ago when I got her one for Christmas for a spa that's within a well known cork hotel. Expired the end of January. Never again.

    I was just about to post the same thing. I bought my sister-in-law a voucher for a spa day and three months later when she tried to book she was told it was valid for only four weeks after purchase.

    Nobody pointed that out when I bought it, I would have had to make a point of finding out for myself. Take nothing for granted.
