The lads who own the lamplighter pub are going in there.

Good, established operator reopening a long void is always good. I thought we'd lost it before the licence reappeared a while back.

For me it'll become an unvisited pub in a sea of visited ones, but at least it's on my bus route!

Has anyone been to New bar Richmonds in Inchicore?

I was in there this evening, didn’t get a look at the taps but plenty of Irish whiskeys and a few Irish gins on offer. The food was decent, no real theme to the menu, something for everyone. Staff all very welcoming. I hope they do well, the area needed something like this.

Sort of opposite the Black Lion, it was a boarded up pub for ages.

Ah, I was only asking about that place a few days ago.

Yep it use to be the Village Inn (Its now the richmond gastropub - going by outside).
Odd I can find nothing online about it, not even a facebook page (tonnes of online buzz about Rascals even though it hasnt opened yet)

I popped in for a pint as well yesterday (moretti on tap), seems like a nice spot, staff very friendly hope it does well.

The food looked really good I must say.

They had moretti on tap and a few other interesting ones (I think a Galway Bay one), as well as the usual ones.

Metzo pub in Ballymun gone as of last Thursday.

That leaves Ballymun without any pub at all then. Metro Hotel bar was always a bit awkward for non residents and is closed anyway as are both in the old SC.

Lamplighter gutted inside, their other pub on park gate street reopened on Saturday.

Did a pub in Donnybrook close recently?

    Presume it's for a refit?

Whats the Parkgate one called now - the Furry Glen name has been rather coopted by something else!

The bar at 98 Parnell Street where The White Hag held their winter festival over the last two weekends is apparently going to be reopening full-time next month with a heavy White Hag presence. It's where the old "Dublin Supporters Bar" was just at the T junction with North Great George's street about halfway from O'Connell Street to Gardiner street.
It's called The Big Romance and is a "vinyl bar". Easier to wipe clean, I guess. Linky.

They have a Facebook update from an hour ago on the G&W DL Facebook page? Is it part of the premises or one of the other closed pubs there?

Never heard a whisper about that. Nice touch with the name. What's the plan with McGowans?

the complex mcgowans was in has been rebuilt into a union cafe location and a pharmacy. I saw the original plans which had a few retail units planned as well.

Its licence has been re-activated to Union8 in this months Revenue files. Same ancient licence number and all. They don't list any alcohol on their website at the minute so if they aren't selling booze, it may be transferred off to another PressUp venue. Although the description mentions wine and cocktails!

matrim - McGowans / County Club / Braemor Rooms in Churchtown; closed for donkeys years.

They've changed their Facebook details now, well mostly. Straight rename rather than a reopening though?
