Tubridy must brick himself when he has a guest on (who’s known for liking a few beers), and afterwards the guest suggests they hit the town so Tubridy can show them all the legendary Dublin watering holes, except Tubbers is a bag of nerves because A. He doesn’t even like Guinness* & B. He’ll be legless after 1 1/2 pints!!

    *I’d say he’s a Budweiser man.

I would've thought he'd be the sort who tries to like scotch.

Architects in general seem to be arse holes so im not sure.

But i agree. ****e irish reality tv at its best.

" dermot id like an extra bedroomon the house. I have 30k."

" oh youll need at least 200k for that."

Some going that Bannon is the most hated architect in Ireland given his competition.

He’d probably get drunk from the smell of a barman’s phart!

I have a good friend who worked for Donal Skehan for a good while.
He's basically the golden child of a stinking rich family who hasn't many skills but looking half-decent, he doesn't deal well with criticism and is pretty self-absorbed. His wife once starting to work for him turned a bit work-shy and dumped all the load on others.
They're both not particularly nice people and he's on a good run to actually mess his business up since all he talks about is his precious child and people simply don't care.
He basically lives off the image that he's the perfect son-in-law for middle class mammies and that's where he gets his money from, mammies. His shows are all 10/10 bad (the very first Irish one was decent though) since all he shows is 5star hotels in other countries that all look the same and the rest, well, is a cheap knock off from Jamie Oliver himself.

I completely went off that guy once I got to know how horrible as a person he is and how poorly he treats his staff.

I worked with Donal for a short time. Good to work with, a very professional & amiable business man. Knew his beans, but not afraid to learn from others, his folks seem to be very hard working people, I wouldn't berate them or anyone for success from hard work. He certainly didn't have "staff" in the sense you're talking about. His wife was lovely to work with too.

But you've been banging on about him for a year or so now looking at your post history and now you've suddenly found a "good friend" that was a member of his "staff" and have "inside info" on him that's ambiguous and hinting... but you can't expand on anything in case of "fall back".... He's an online home cook, not a biker gang.

You don't like him. Fair enough, but I seriously think you're pants are on fire with that story.

Even though he is a massive bell-end, I guess we don't "see" him as much as most of the names mentioned here. As long as he's peddling his pseudo-psychology bollocks over in his little corner of podcastland, knowing of his existence is just about tolerable.

Worth thanking for that line alone. I can take of leave Donal myself but my mother loves him. There a market for what he does. Fair play to him.

Donal Skehan, sorry buying a €400 knife doesn't make you a chef.

First they came for the socialists...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of his as a person, I'm okay-ish with the stuff he does, I find him to be a more obnoxious food presenter than others but that's opinion.

Regarding my friend, they were working for him a few years, before they moved on because he departed to LA and cut down on his staff. The months beforehand were chaotic and got unpleasant in work. They're on friendly terms but said friend wouldn't work for him again and there is valid critic on why. I don't think that I'm obliged to tell details of a company that I have no involvement with other than work talk among friends that everyone does when they meet up.

And for me in my personal opinion: he's a good example for what you can do when you're coming from a wealthy background and want to make it into the spotlight. Food works for him now after failed attempts but he was born into a family with good relationships and networks (nothing wrong with that) that gave him a good advantage in this field he's in now. He's definitely not living up to his potential though or let's say he let it slip by going full on American.
His approach changed from Irish and local to something like a poor Jamie Oliver and moved up the obnoxiousness scale to a lot of other Irish food presenters.

And after all this thread is about annoying celebs, he is, in my opinion. Sorry you don't share this, I bet you find someone annoying that I'm quite fond of.

Edit: I don't see what I'd gain from making things up. I could also make up that I'd know the whole of RTE just to win an argument or whatever but there's absolutely nothing in it for me.
You made your experiences with him and that's fine, others made others or made up their mind on him. It's all gravy baby.
I also hate architects because all I met without exception in my previous job were kinda d1cks. That's not made up I swear on me grandda's grave.

TBH I've met Bannon and it's not a foregone conclusion that Dwyer would be more hated than him!

    Graham Dwyer, for starters

I met Dwyer back when I worked for engineering company; he worked on a few projects with us.

    His architectural work was grand.

Pity he's a scumbag murdering psychopath.

Also haven't seen Bernard O'Shea on here.

And I thought Lottie Ryan was annoying but now that Jennifer Zamparelli is back I'd have her any day of the week.

Kevin Myers, if you could call him a celebrity, because of his rather unfavourable opinions on Michael Collins.
