CV Check

    Hi All,

I work in a department that I'm desperate to get out of. It's very difficult to get out of this type of work so I'm looking for a role in a better department in the same industry.

Recruiters and employers pigeon hole you very easily so I was thinking of putting on my CV that I've worked in a different department in my work history.

When potential new employers perform checks on your CV do they check the department that you worked in or is it just your title and duration?

    Thanks all

It's well known that people stretch the truth on CV but I wouldn't outright lie

Could you put down no specific department?
    Company, title, description?

Was thinking about that but in my industry it's standard to list the department(s) you worked in

    It'll probably work.

    But it's dishonest and shady.

It'll be checked and a lie caught out.
I wouldn't bother changing tbh. Getting a job is down to interview ability. Practice that.

    Will it really though?

In my experience HR are ridiculously lazy.

I agree with your other point. It's pretty much down to interview ability. It's surprising how little people practice interviews.
