    Right, I'm kick-starting the noms so :P

    1) Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special - From the start it kicks off with Smithy (James Corden) singing "Do They Know it's Christmas time?" It feels so Christmassy.

    2) The Office (UK) - The Christmas Specials were not only fantastic series finales but such a fantastic Christmas feels during a typical Office Christmas Party.

    3) The Den - Christmas Crisis - This one really is a throw back to my childhood everything is perfect, the visit to lapland, Zig & Zag are back and Podge causing trouble and Dustin on top form. A perfect Christmas Special.

There's loads more I could pick but I'm hoping someone else will. :)

One of my favourites too! :)

    1. Gavin & Stacey. An instant classic & as already mentioned just has such a christmassy buzz about if from the off.
    2. Only Fools & horses. Jolly Boys outing, still remember watching this in 1989 & it instantly became one of, if not, my favourite episode ever.
    3. Father Ted. The priests getting lost in the lingerie section of a department store was hilarious, I had had a few festive beers by the time I sat down to watch it & i remember crying I laughed that much.

Yeah Father Ted for me too. Me and my best friend at the time, were obsessed with Father Ted. We used to make up our own little scripts. She was always Dougal, I was always Ted. I can't tell you the excitement that Christmas special caused. :D

    1. Muppet Family Christmas (not that ****e Muppet Christmas Carol. This was a TV special filmed a few years before Jim Henson died).
    2) Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas (nobody here has seen this and it's one of the most heart-warming, fun specials ever. Another Jim Henson production, with phenomenal music by Paul Williams, who was a great songwriter for The Carpenters and countless others. It deals with grief, loss, poverty, optimism, courage, love: very profound, but it is a lot of fun, with beautiful production).
    3) Any One Foot In The Grave Christmas special.

    1) All of the Vicar of Dibbley Christmas specials but particularly the one where Geraldine gets plastered on Christmas Eve and forgets she has to do the Midnight service. Absolute classic.

    2) Downton Abbey Christmas special between season 2 & 3, set between 1919 and 1920. Lots of Christmassy decorations, tons of fancy clothes porn, and the culmination of a love arc. What more would you want?

    3) Creature Comforts Christmas Special. It's completely lovely. :)

Gavin & Stacey, Fr Ted and...this is a bit of a strange one, but The OC episode where they celebrate Chrismukkah. I was so in love with Seth!

The father ted episode is good but even the creators said on the dvd commentary that it's too long. At almost three times the length of a normal episode it could have been edited a wee bit.

Father Ted Christmas Special for me, too!

Also love Big Fat Quiz but not sure if that's more of a new year thing.

I love most of the comedy Christmas specials, Fr Ted, only fools and horses, and the vicar of dibleby are my favourites.
Some things should be banned on TV on Xmas day, all the soaps with their one hour of misery usually anyway for sure.!

I agree! Even if someone offered me a free house in Albert Square I wouldn't take it. It's always miserable there.

My Brother In Law loves the soaps too so we usually have to sit through 3 of them on Christmas Night!

+ 1 for Blackadder Xmas special, such a clever idea.

Also mention for the "Bart gets caught shoplifting" episode of The Simpsons.

"You have selected ... POWER DRIVE"
    "I recommend ... feather touch"
"You have selected ... POWER DRIVE. The ball is in .... parking lot"

"Would you like to play again? .... you have selected ... No".
