Thought Salah was much more like himself today, looked very dangerous,Mane brilliant.

Fabinho looked a bit overwhelmed at times but was still best of the midfield 3.

TAA was absolutely terrible especially towards the end he was brainless. Van Dyk is just on another level.

People got carried away with Fabinho last two performances against two of the worst teams ever to come to anfield in Cardiff and red star different ball game today

Yeah it's the ones saying he's been pretty good that are getting carried away, not the ones saying he should be sold after 4 games.

Well they didn’t press him or anyone in our midfield. Didn’t have the same time today. Pace is a lot quicker than in the French league especially against the better teams.

    EDIT:

My apologies, I only realised the reference to the Sun might be held to mean something else with Liverpool fans. Wasn't my intention.

Annoyed we didn't win that but a draw away to arsenal ain't too bad, we can't seem to beat the big teams anymore though, City gonna win the lge at a canter anyway so we still looking OK for top 4

For all the complaining some people should be delighted with our league position considering we have a sh!te goalkeeper, sh!te Fabinho, two other sh!te midfielders, 3 sh!te forwards.

What have City done that we haven't? Beat Southampton tomorrow and they'll be 2 points ahead having played one fewer top 6 teams.

Midfield, Trent and Firmino not at it today, Trent particularly poor. Fair result overall but disappointing after going one up. If Lovren was available think he would have been partnering VVD with Gomez RB and think that's what we'll see in the big games.

Our squad still needs another two players. Klopp had no interest in using the bench bar Shaqiri and a few minutes for Matip which he seems to like doing to see out games.

Robbed by not getting manes goal, arsenal were very good and are in great form, a good result considering we didn't play our best, had our chances and fluffed them.

Emery has done a very good job so far with some of those arsenal bottlers of the last two seasons.

It genuinely wasn't. i put it forward as an example of rubbish journalism, which seems to be the common consensus here.

Anyways. Back on topic. Ozil gets terrible press because he is seen as lazy in his style but he covers more ground than most players (at least based on last years stats) and has more assists than most in the league. He's not the type of player who drops back and wins a crucial tackle in his own box, so he is seen as a luxury player, but the stats speak for themselves.

On the plus side that's away trips to Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal all done with.

Regards the game, disappointed to draw from the position we were in, I thought we had seen them off once Auba went off. In saying that Arsenal deserved a point if not more, they were the better team and played some lovely intricate stuff, we were just huff and puff with no fluidity. Nothing coming from the midfield , could've done with Hendo today. I thought Mane was a great outlet, Salah was average and should've fed in Mane at the end, Firmino anonymous. VVD was absolutely superb too, what a player.

Firmino is having to play deeper because we don't have the person to drive forward with the ball. When Kieta/Ox are back Bobby will be pushed higher up and he can hassle the defenders then and that'll help the team a lot more.

When the frustration subsides we'll realise this is a great result. Poxy sucker punch but I was ready for something like that.

We're definitely lacking that creative and/or direct running midfielder that can get forward and join in the attack and get beyond the front three occasionally. Ox did it for us in the 2nd half of last season. I think Keita was meant to do it for us this season but it hasn't quite happened for him yet.

Never thought of it like that. Not impressed with Firmino of late but this makes sense.

Still think we need another striker though.

    Played pretty shíte.
Ref was a nailed on homer.
    Goal wrongly disallowed.

And we're still unbeaten, and have drawn at the Emirates after Arsenal play their most complete game of the season by a stretch.

    Happy out.

    Our next 6 league games

    Fulham H
    Watford A
    Everton H
    Burnley A
    Bournemouth A
    United H

Two big home games and a couple trickyish aways against decent sides.

Agree with this, and it’s impacting the front 3. Instead of the mid supporting them, Bobby is deeper supporting the mid.

The result: Our mids are deeper protecting the back 4, we are less open and our goals conceded is a huge improvement. But we don’t have mids getting forward, we threaten less, and the front 3 look less effective.
Seems to be the way Klopp wants to play it this year. Less flashy, but more solid in defense.

A draw probably a fair result. Enjoyable game I thought.

TAA was poor, he was targeted all game and run ragged. He needed more help.

I didn't think Fab was too poor, despite the comments on here. Possibly the best of the midfield 3 TBH.

Salah looked dangerous, Mane was good in spells, Firmino was quiet.

    VVD was outstanding.

Catching City will probably be a step too far this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,144 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Van dijk was outstanding. The team needs creativity in midfield. Shaqiri I think should be starting but Klopp don't seem to trust him yet. Still hoping keita can come back and be that missing piece as it almost a league winning squad.
