Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So i can’t remove a cork from a wine bottle, its not stubborn. I just twist the cork screw in like normal and when i open it by pushing the corkscrew arms down it just slides back out.

So anyone have a fix on this?

Can you force the cork down into the wine? Then just pour out around it?

Smash off a wall, drill a hole into the cork or as above push cork down

Is the cork damaged? One approach is wrapping a towel around base of bottle, then tapping the base firmly against a hard surface until the wine itself pushes the cork out.

Depends on the kind of opener you have. If it's one like these :

Try holding the twisty bit at the top (may need an extra hand for this) while pushing the legs down.

If it's just coming back up without turning then the cork is getting damaged.
Might need to use a pair of tongs :D

I find the openers that pump air into the bottle to be the best of all.
