    Hi All,
I have moved house and there is a fireplace with a back boiler, water pump and a thermostat. Is there any way to test the pump is working before I light the fire?
    Thanks,
    John.

If it's all wired up through the pipestat ready to go with a power supply why not just remove the pipe stat and boil a stainless kettle or pot and hold the pipe stat up against it, (first turn down the set point).

Or just turn down the pipestat to 0. It should activate the pump
