20% is a fairly big increase on the 1%.

I voted for the wee man myself, but nevertheless....

What will be interesting is to how this translates per constituency.

After the highs of the Repeal the 8th, it's nice to be reminded, with Casey's vote share, just how many people in this country are utter cúnts (hopefully blasphemy is legal now).

The cheering of the late late crowd when MDH name was mentioned tells a lot. Populism of mediocrity.

Not trolling, sorry. The beauty of this election is that it sends a strong message: we've had it with that privileged minority.

How exactly is Casey not the privileged minority?

The story has to be Casey here. That kind of protest vote will be tough to ignore.

The split across the country will be telling on how politicians react. But the genie is out of the bottle.

Casey with a tiny budget and zero political parties backing him gets almost more votes than all other candidates challenging Higgins combined, amazing performance, he was giving people exactly what they wanted.

From 2 to 20%. Not bad in a week. This will be a message in itself.

Clearly shows how out of step AH is with broad public sentiment. You'd swear Casey had it in the bag with everyone congratulating each other for voting for him and exclaiming how everyone and their dog was leaving the voting station having voted for him.

A higher perctage didn’t want to repeal the 8th than voted for Casey.

Come on Casey can't string a sentence together, he'd have been an embarrassment , if you were naive enough to have fallen for his bs then you need to look in the mirror.

It's interesting that AH has a vastly higher percentage of cunts Peter Casey voters than the country as a whole.

    20pc for casey

Which just shows the mindsets of what sways voter opinions. A business man who most wouldn't know and who has never expressed any political ambitions comes along and says a few non pc things, has no real platform in terms of policy but still picks up 20% of the vote.

As both Tubridy and McCullagh said, the story of this election is Casey from 1% to over 20%.
You lot can dress it up anyway you like. But a big message was sent and that was the aim of the vote.
    Well Done Casey.

Happy with the exit poll but I think it will swing even more favorably to Casey in the real poll as answering Casey in a public manner would not be popular still on an in person poll. Watch this space.

Reasons why Casey jumped from 2% to 21%. Exhibit A.
