Does anyone know if we need planning permission to convert our attic putting the window on the back of the roof? We already have a 39 sqm extension out the back of the house using the exemption allowance. Can't seem to find info online whether our existing extension impacts on the need for planning permission or not. Thanks

You can convert to storage space without permission, if it is being converted to habitable space, you will need permission.

Is it a Velux window (roof flight) or a dormer window?

    Velux window.

    Sounds exempt.
You’ll need an engineer to design the. We structure anyway, so maybe ask them
To also provide an opinion on planning.
