Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got two standing in presale this morning, also splurged yesterday on the double vinyl.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,070 ✭✭✭purple hands

Do you have to buy one of the fancy re-issues of the album to access the presale?

No, you just had to sign up yesterday to get the code.

Ticket sale for the unwashed is Friday.

I couldn't get any in the pre-sale, I didn't even get as far as selecting a ticket, I tried on the phone and a browser.
I'll just have to take my chances in the general sale Friday :(

After seeing them do The Holy Bible and Everything Must Go tours it would be rude not to go to this. Might venture over the UK for one of those gigs either

    That would've been amazing.

When did they do the Holy Bible tour? I thought I'd seen them every time they play in Dublin.

If they play all of This is My Truth Tell Me Yours ,13 songs ,that only leaves room for about 7 other songs as the Manics rarely play over 90 minutes.
Great band live but criminally short gigs .

26 songs ,that's a very long set for them.

I'm looking forward to hearing You're Tender And You're Tired and Black Dog on my Shoulder live.

I was at their singles show in London. 38 songs!
    They needed an interval

Same here. They play here every tour and then when they do one of my favourite albums they don't play here!

Missed the pre-sale, here's hoping I can snare a couple in the morning. Not my favourite Manics album but some brilliant tunes on it. The organ on Ready For Drowning is amazing, I could listen to that all day. If You Tolerate This... gives me goosebumps every single time. You Stole The Sun...I just never got that one at all even though lots of people love it. Definitely a divisive album but you could say that about most of them probably.

The year they first toured the album... They played the point with Super Furry Animals supporting.... It was the first gig I bought my son to... He was 7 year's old..... 20 years ago....ðŸ˜႒

    How much are tickets?

Ideally seated as I’m gettin too old for standing lark.

Big Manics fan back in the day. Saw them copious times. Witness, Slane and I think I saw in a smaller venue as well just can’t think where. Probably The Point.

Agree. Very strange alright. Saw the Holy Bible in the Olympia last time and it was an amazing gig. Looking forward to this one.

Middle of December 2014 in the Olympia.

Holy Bible gig was brilliant - never thought I'd hear Of Walking Abortion live!
This gig should be a lot mellower. Maybe they should skip SYMM :D

We were only able to get upper circle for this.

Circle is the best area for the Olympia to be fair.

Got my two standing after a slight panic when I was asked to submit a new credit card despite being logged in. Sold out now I'm guessing?

Ticketmaster did this with the HB gig too. Released standing tickets the night before the gig.

I got a ticket for Manchester instead because it was just so much easier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 727 ✭✭✭Morpork

Got my tickets in the on the pre-sale in the circle. Going with the missus. We've been together 10 years and this will be our first concert together. Can't wait!

havent seen them since a trip to tipp many moons ago...

You didn't think they could sell 1500 tickets ?
Thats a club gig by their standards.

Strange thing is that the Holy Bible gig didn't sell out quickly (if I remember correctly), but maybe it's because this album is more well-known.

I could have sworn the opposite, that it sold out fairly quick. We're so lucky they're doing shows in venues like the Olympia. Can't wait for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,070 ✭✭✭purple hands

Just nabbed a couple of tickets in upper circle through the app :D

Holy Bible concert sold out in less than 10 mins. It was infuriating trying to get tickets that morning.

They have comfortably filled the Olympia every time they've played it and the Ambassador (2007 I think). Standing tickets always get snapped as they have a pretty loyal fanbase.

They’re an old 90’s band ffs who’ve done sweet **** all for years.

I’m not surprised it sold out but I’m surprised it sold out so quickly at a high ticket price.

Sounds like it should have been a bigger venue.

Might go see Cast in November now instead. Half the price, decent band. No Manics but should be good all the same.

Have you listened to any of their albums since the 90's ?
They are one of the best bands in the music industry ,constantly producing good material.
    Phenomenal band live .

Yes I have. No need to throw the eyes to heaven. You’re not the only one that’s listened to more than the hits. Ugh.

I agree they’re a good band but they aren’t the most popular band on the planet which is why I assumed I’d pick up a ticket this morning without an issue.

I still think €50 is a bit much but I was willing to pay it as I haven’t seen them in years.

Maybe they’ll add another date. We’ll see.

Ps I know they’re a good band live having already printed out I’ve seen them on a few occasions.

Missed out on tickets this morning, will just have wait until they announce the “special once off gig” in Wales. Swansea was great craic for the EMG tour a few years back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,076 ✭✭✭lukin

Got a standing ticket but "You won't receive paper tickets for this event."?
That's very unusual for a small venue like the Olympia.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,435 ✭✭✭weemcd

Great band, not their most avid listener but I went to see them in the Ambassador years ago and it is one of the gigs I have fondest menories off.

Never got my Dublin tickets in the end and won't be holding out to get any the night before the gig, cause I do have my ticket to one of the Manchester gigs, and how many times would you really wanna stand through TMIT live?

Think the only tour I missed them on since EMG was TMIT 20 years ago.

Manics supporting Bon Jovi on all their UK stadium dates next summer so a possibility of Croke Park too..Def Leppard supporting in Germany.

They should really then just play Generation Terrorists and Gold Against the Soul stuff for those dates
