cutting copper pipe

Hello,

never worked with copper pipe before, so looking for some advice. I have to complete a project using 42mm copper pipe, cutting into rings approx 40mm long.

I do have a circular saw which cuts aluminium, would this work, or is there a specific way of doing it?

Also want to treat one end so its not sharp - any advice on how i would do this?

as said above pipe cutters they are cheap to buy and leave a perfect finish

Make sure you get big enough to do 2inch

File, sand paper, lots of different ways, ideally you'd use a tool for deburring the pipe which they ingeniously named a pipe deburring tool

Biggest thing to get right (imo) would be the cutting though so if you're only buying one tool then make it a pipe cutter. If you don't want to or can't buy a tool I think I'd go with a hacksaw rather than a circular saw to be honest.

Gonna go have a look at all my pliers now and wonder how come I've never noticed that before

Used to do that myself until i saw a lad reef himself open one day as he had cutting compound on his hands, slipped off the plastic handles into the jagged pipe.

Threaded bar works well too.

Just buy the pipe cutter. I have a saying that there is a tool for every job & the pipe cutter is the tool for this job. Forget the rest. Also there is a "tool" on every job! ðŸ˜‚
