Yeah fair enough, and I said it wont be for everyone. Having used busses for a few years, walking to catch them in the lashing rain, a bus strike every other week, I'd take the Lacetti if you forced me to pick one

    I've driven worse.

I think I'd rather spend my €950 on hookers & coke, and just get the bus or train to and from work. :pac:

You're not a pepsi guy then? Oh, that kind of coke :pac:

I'm a culchie myself, but there is something about Passats, especially light blue ones, that just screams "Farmers only daughter that has finished up her course in Mary I's and is subbing in the local primary where her mother's second cousin, the priest in the next parish over, is on the board of management. She'll get the permanent contract shortly"

It was imported into Ireland on February the 10th 2018 with brand new MOT.
This car does not require NCT until the expiry of the MOT which will be in February of 2019

    Is this not bolix?

You should run over in the Golf and interview her. Never know where it could lead. Laying hen. Free site and grass for a bullock or two. You get the picture

No, I read it on boards :D
(somewhere on the imported cars thread...seemingly the NCT accepts MOTs now)

Yes it is bolix AFAIK. you need to exchange the test, and the reason he hasn’t done it is you can only do the exchange if the mot test was done after the date the new rule came in.

ah well..car still looks good on pics, might be worth looking at anyway

Is the MOT not valid here anyway under the rule that prompted the change: EU tests need to be recognised in other member states.

How can you be prosecuted if the law was changed in response to an anomaly? Its a pretty small time frame to be fair.

I too am a culchie but never thought of them quite like that but makes sense now that you mention it. Deirdre will be just fine... its afore gone conclusion that she will get "the pull".

I'm a bit confused. So a car is motd till November 1st.
I bring said car over and register it, instead of putting it through the nct they simply give me the cert until November 1st and then I nct it?

A useful car if the beast from the east comes back.
I wonder how much salt damage form UK roads?

I know, I know, I know.... some of you won't be caught dead driving it, more will need to put a paper bag over their head if they are to etc etc etc. But for those of you like me who are now around too long to be overly worried about image at this stage of the game...

    2009 Chevrolet Lacetti 1.6 petrol;
    Tested 04/19
    Mint condition were told
Motor tax saucy enough @ €750 p.a but hey you cant have it all.
    Asking €950.

Can only imagine you'd be hard pressed to find another ready to go 2009 car for less than €1k.

    Didn't last long.

    A very reasonably priced car.

Apart from the big discrepancy in mileage (140,000KM on the ad vs 160,000M on the dash) nothing really jumps out.
