If it were cheap to tax then it would be more expensive to buy. The reason it's cheap is because of the tax rate.

Not necessarily, they can be sold abroad too to buyers in the UK where similar cars cost more. Seller here might get a partial VRT refund too.

No VRT refund if they are less than a certain value, I think that is €2000, so that will be revenues valuation OMSP, high when you buy, low when you sell seems likely.

I didn't do it, but if the mileage is right it works.

The guy is doing over 100km a day for work. It paid for itself pretty quickly. He already had that car so it is not like he picked this car for lpg installation. Paid peanuts for the car and the install and never an issue.

Surely the savings would be big in 3.0 v6, but the tax would kill the savings by now anyway

We had a Subaru 1.8 on LPG back in the day - the drop off in power was significant going from petrol to LPG, wonder how bad the drop off is for a 1.0?!
