    Hey folks,
I need a tip. Where would I pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 so I get in the post on Friday?
I pre-ordered from Gamestop once, but the game arrived a few days late and I'd like to have it for the bank holiday weekend.
I don't really have the time Friday or Saturday to pick it up from Argos or Smyths, so I'd like to order it for delivery on Friday.

    Thanks in advance!

Obviously I'd like to have the physical edition, not the overpriced digital version.

Smyths is probably the best option. You can still pre-order for free home delivery for 60. You can save a fiver if you pre order in store. Based on my experience they have been reliable on release date for Octopath Traveller & Spiderman.
Supervalu have them for 50 if you fancy trying that route too but you can't pre order there obviously

Ya, definitely stay clear of GameStop. I'm still waiting on Dark Souls on Switch. Was supposed to be delivered on the 19th.

I would suggest digital if you can afford it. Youll have it to play at midnight on Thursday night then.

Any idea how that'll work, considering they haven't a section with video games? Will they just have them behind the tills?

Supervalu are mostly all franchises, so each shop will handle it differently. Dedicated stand for the cases most likely, probably near the front of the store but may move around depending on how bored the managers are.

Good luck! I remember cycling down to my local Tesco on GTA IV release day, which they advertised they would be selling, only to be met with blank stares. Nobody was too sure whether it had sold out or was never delivered or was hidden out the back stores.

I have a feeling all your local Tesco employees were playing GTA IV later that evening.

Why people still buy physical discs is beyond me.

Sell on value. You can get the game for next to nothing if you do it right. I really only get digital now. Was thinking how I'd lose everything if I ever got locked out of my account, then realised I'd lose everything physically if my house burned down, This made me realise I was worrying about the wrong things.

Enable two factor authentication on your PSN account with your phone number. Extra security and less likely to be locked out of your account. Just don't be that guy who changes their phone number and doesn't update it on PSN.

yeah I have 2FA enabled. It's a good security feature but not foolproof. There was an article posted here (somewhere) about someone who lost their account with 2FA enabled, although the person who stole it appeared to have a lot of help from eejits in Sony.

Trade value. Why people buy digital is beyond me.

I bought Spiderman recently on disc, platinumed it and traded it into GameStop with Sniper Elite 4 which I picked up last year and don't play and got Battlefield V for €1.

If they were digital purchases, they'd be sitting there with no value and I'd have no inclination to play them again and id have to pay €55 for the new game.

So it's no contest for me. Also, RDR2 is more expensive digitally.

Digital is really the only way to go if you have more than 1 PS4 in the house - essentially 2 copies for the price of 1.

I'm chancing it with Amazon, Prime free month trial still active. After a couple of years being awful and really late with deliveries, they seem to have massively improved again. Doubtful I'll get it Friday still though.
