Is it too late to plant strawberries?? I've 20 bareroot plants coming in the post in the next week or so. Should I pot them up until the spring or straight into the ground??

As a side question,. Are strawberries good for ground cover under raspberry and blueberry's? Will they fruit undercover??

    I'm in the South West

Plant now they will be fine. Would prefer to have them in as much sunlight as possible though

They'll be grand, I planted hundreds of them last November which gave a bountiful harvest in the summer.

As said they want sun sun sun so in Ireland would be a poor ground cover/companion crop and as they are "runners/creepers" they could damage the crop they are planted around as well.
