Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Register to vote having moved back to Ireland

    Im on the register in county A for presidential/referenda, since I lived abroad for many years. Have now moved home to county B and wish to fully register myself for all elections. What form do I need to fill out?

    Counties A and B border each other and share the town I live in. Since I missed the cutoff should I wait before sending in this form with regards to voting in the referendum and presidential election?

    You're on the register in County A for all purposes. There is no class of people who are entitled to vote only in presidential elections and referendums. The notation beside your name indicates that, yes, you are entitled to vote in presidential elections and referendums as well as everything else (which means you are an Irish citizen; not-citizens have more restricted voting rights.

    You can safely send in the form. The new register, reflecting all the changes, will take effect next April, and from then on you'll be registered in County B. Until then, the existing register continues in force; you can vote in County A.
