fiberglass v rockwool

    which has the better insulation value 50mm rock wool or 60mm fiberglass ?

    the fiberglass, fiberglass has an average thermal conductivity of 0.36W/mk while rock wool has 0.44W/mk the lower the thermal conductivity figure the better the insulation. 50 or 60mm may be ok to insulate pipes but if it is an attic then 300mm is the minimum.

    its fir garage ceiling which is under a bedroom

    if your looking for a quilt type insulatuon I would look at metac I believe it's 0.034.

    Rock wool is there more for its fire barrier properties than insulation. It has a much higher melting point than fibreglass. The thermal properties are secondary.
