United first bag charge!!! Checked in bag or no checked bag

    Hi guys. Pricing flights from snn to nyc next March. I see united have one fair called “economy first bag charge” that’s 318 return and normal economy for 390

    I can’t seem to find if you have a checked in bag for the lower fare. It appears as if you don’t have a cabin bag which is fine but it’s fair confusing. Anyone shed any light on it ??

    It is what it says it is, Economy (first bag charge/no change allowed) as opposed to Economy.

    You can get a cheaper fare, but if you want a checked bag then it is $60 for your first bag per flight.
    Your cabin baggage allowance is also only a small personal backpack or laptop bag, no big wheelie case.
    No refunds, changes or upgrades on the cheaper fare.

    If you have purchased Basic Economy, you will only be allowed one personal item, unless you are a Premier® member or a primary card member using a qualifying MileagePlus credit card. Everyone else who is traveling on a Basic Economy ticket and brings a full-sized carry-on bag to the gate will be required to check their bag and pay the applicable checked bag fee plus a $25 gate handling charge. Payment is by credit card only.

    Not many people will be travelling who will be bringing nothing only a handbag. Even on a weekend away you’d surely bring a 10kg bag.

    If its the Newark flight then avoid it and go elsewhere.

    Domestic 777 on this route and its horrendous.

    It used to be such a great product when still operated by legacy Continental crew but not anymore.
