Out here in Mayo also, kinda glad I'm switching next week. Recent service from Eir has been appalling.  I spect over 40 mins on 1901 yesterday - that includes about 22 mins waiting for an answer and another 18 mins on hold mid way through my call.

No data connection here in Dublin central.

A close friend works in the technical side of eir and confirmed long ago that they are running way above capacity and simply don't want to spend the money to sort it.

    No surprise

Yes. I am having problems with my eir mobile connection in the Blackrock area of South Dublin. Can't use Youtube, Steam or microsoft so far with my broadband today. Some other websites are working though including Boards and other forum sites though.

Also had the problem. None of my Wifi devices or my laptop via cable would connect to the internet. Oddly the Eir TV service was fine.
Did the DNS change and I'm back online.
Surely if its such a wide spread problem, news media should be picking up on this and getting in contact with Eir to spread the word of the fix.

    This too shall pass.

Our evision is working fine, but everything else Wi-Fi enabled is not working. Can't fathom it.

It not a fix for Eir Mobile, i.e. 3G/4G. Until they fix their DNS for Mobile customers, we're buggered.

OK, I'm going to try to post the idiots guide to changing your DNS to google for F2000 modems
first open a new tab and enter http://192.168.1.254/ into the address bar
username is admin and password will be your wifi password as printed on the back of the modem
From the top of the page click Internet
In internet settings go to the bottom of VDSL WAN-1
just after IPv6 address prefix list you'll see two buttons, Delete and Edit.
    Press Edit
Scroll down until you see an unticked box called Static DNS
    Tick the box
8 more boxes should appear called IPv4 Primary DNS Server and secondary DNS Server.
In each of the boxes for the Primary server replace all the numbers with a single 8
then in the secondary server replace the first two boxes with 8 and the last two boxes with 4
It should look something like this.
    IPv4 primary DNS server: [8].[8].[8].[8]
    IPv4 secondary DNS server: [8].[8].[4].[4]
Click Save a few lines down.
After about a minute. Internet should be restored. There should not be a need to restart your modem.
    Hope this helps someone.

    This too shall pass.

My phones will connect to WiFi, nothing else will connect (laptop, TV etc)

Have reset the router, no joy

I'm tired of eir. We started contract in Jan, we have had 4 outages since then, each one lasting a couple of days and what I've started to notice is that it's always at a really inconvenient time, like Friday at 6pm of a bank holiday weekend etc. This is the 5th time they have failed us. Partner works from home and this really drives him up the wall. Won't be renewing our contract.

That worked, thanks. Will I need to change those numbers back when the fault is fixed?

Thanks. Does the Static DNS box need to be unticked again when everything is up and running again?

Edit: Same question as above really!

Down here in Donegal. I can log in with fire tablet which is odd but then again I'm not into all the technical stuff so maybe that's normal

Use your tablet to follow my instructions on the previous page.
As for the need to change back. You can if you want but you don't have to. Only if Google's DNS starts getting the same trouble as eir's did today.
I don't fully understand how this all works, I just know that it does.

    This too shall pass.

The real question is if this is a valid excuse to go to the pub?
