Help, 100% cpu usage

    Recently my pc has slowed to a crawl, im.being plagued by 100% cpu usage... the problem only occurs when connected to the internet, while offline the system seems fine. My cpu is an i7 2600k. Ive done the usual, scan for virus etc with the system coming up clean. I dont use the pc for web browsing in general, minimal youtube usage and that's about it.
    The problem start occurring after i had brought the pc into a different room to use, it was there for 2 days and then after shut down it was left plugged out for another 2 days before being moved back to its usual place. Since setting it back up yesterday its been unusably slow.
    All drivers etc were also checked and are up to date.
    Its running an
    i7 2600k,
    12gb ram,
    Gtx 970

    Any help or tips for fixing the issue would much appreciated
