I’ve been playing Rainbow Six Seige Terrorist Hunt mode.

Can’t believe I missed this game until now. It’s so good.

Black Ops 4 will be my next game.

Time is my enemy these days so quick play games work out well. Blops although probably not a popular choice here fits that criteria perfectly.

As much as I love R6S. Having to mix up doesn’t work that great when you have kids in the backround shouting. Lol

Started Silent Hill on the Vita. Maybe I just have to get used to the Vita again, but find the controls awkward

About 12 hours into Persona 5 now and really enjoying it so far. Palaces are tough and can be stressful when your facing up against that last enemy that pops up just before the next safe room.

It's the type of game I bought a PS4 for and the type that we don't see enough of on Xbox.

Finished Spiderman and now i'm alternating between Fire Pro Wrestling and Fifa 19

Decide to leave Silent Hill and start Broken Sword 5 on Vita.
    Also starting Darksiders on PS4

Plugging away at Mafia 3, pretty awesome game to be honest, never played the others so I went in after being told "it’s like GTA" and turns out, it’s not.

The story playing out, with the interview movie segments throughout is pretty great too. And at one point, I hadn't realised that I had actually started a mission, so when I failed I loved the whole "after blah blah the city was up in arms and Lincoln Clay died in a shootout with the police the next day" as opposed to the usual "You dun fuked up boi" screens you usually get.

Now if I can get my 3 associates to stop being pissy with how I’m dividing up the city segments I’ll be happy out :pac:

think I'm near the end of Mafia III just have the one last district to give away. Really enjoyed it. Soundtrack is amazing. Thought I would hate the fact there was no fast travel but travelling the map in a car listening to the radio hadn't gotten old.

It's a lot more structured than GTA and I like the way it has developed.

Recently finished Mafia 3 actually. From what I had previously read about it I was expecting that I'd end up just giving up half-way through but I didn't find it nearly as repetitive as others, and I did 90% of the optional and collectibles stuff.

Even though the structure of the story itself is fairly repetitive in so far as the whole "identify a target - piss them off enough to draw them out - kill them - rinse/repeat" thing, I found there's just enough variation and small details added to each of those sub-missions to make them enjoyable.

It still could have been so much more though. There's just too many bugs in my experience that take away from the game to make it any more than your average 7/10 one play then put away game. Plus, as good as the soundtrack is, it's a little short and repetitive itself even with the few stellar tracks from the era.

My biggest issue is collecting the pissing fuses or whatever for the phone taps.

The greatest thing i've found when approaching a building is to somehow attract someone's attention, kill them and then have the next guy, and the next guy and the next guy and so on, keep coming to search for you. Took a warehouse a while ago and ended up in a room with 25 or so dead guys flopping about. They all came to investigate and not a single shot was fired :D

Finally started 'The Last of Us'. Only about an hour or so into it and enjoying it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Currently getting into Shadow of Mordor. So far so good, I found the learning curve a little bit steep to begin with. I'm not so sure on the side missions and the various Uruk captains you have to go after, but the story mode is good (although I find the story is suffering a little bit at the start - it's not 100% clear to me on what exactly is going on in places)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,009 ✭✭✭✭Kintarō Hattori

So over a month into The Last of US (I don't get time to play all that much) and I can see why it's so popular. It started off being good but nothing amazing but it chips away at you. It really is a fantastic game. I had hoped to get quite a bit of time playing it over the weekend but the little one had a bad case of the sniffles so that went out the window.

I never played a game where like TLOU where I had such an emotional attachment to the characters. Was full on dread near the end that one of them wasn't going to make it on the first play through. I'm currently playing
    Destiny 2
    RDR2
    AlienNation
    Doom
    Bulletstorm

Can't seem to settle on anything. Battliefield V from tomorrow.

    Destiny 2
    Fifa 19

And thats about the height of it.

Currently playing Metal Gear Solid 5.

Only on mission 16 or 17 but really enjoying it so far, the base building and staff recruiting is really addictive. After completing a few great open world games before this, I can't help feeling that the map is so empty, but thankfully the stealth gameplay is excellent and keeps it interesting.

Bulletstorm which is free with PSN this month and is a complete blast.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,009 ✭✭✭✭Kintarō Hattori

I also installed Sky Force Anniversary as a game to throw on for a quick 10 minutes before playing something else and it's good craic. Nothing complicated, just fire at everything on screen. Upgrading your plane seems to be quite a slog though. I've thrown on some upgrades from the hangar but they don't really seem to be in effect...... that could be just me though.

RightO- finished The Last of Us last night and I'm on the DLC.

Any recommendations as to what to play next? Some options include:

    Bulletstorm
    Yakuza Kiwami
    Unravel
God of War III - Remastered (never played a GOW game)
    Destiny II (haven't played either)
    Metro Redux (haven't played either)
    Titanfall II (haven't played either)
    Gravity Rush
    Doom
    Horizon
    Far Cry 4

The campaign in Titanfall is quite short but very good and good value for the price it's at. HZD is one of the best you can get

I'd recommend Horizon. One of the best games I've played.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,204 ✭✭✭✭Penn

I'd say Horizon too. Absolutely fantastic game. Regarding God of War 3 remastered though, I'd nearly skip it and go straight through to the new God of War game. As much as I enjoyed GOW3, the story isn't all that great, the combat is very good overall and some of the levels and boss fights are fantastic. But the new GOW just blows it straight out of the water, acts as a good jumping-on point for the franchise in terms of story and beats GOW3 in almost every metric available. I'm guessing you got it free with PS+, so it probably is worth playing at some point, but I'd be prioritising the new GOW over it.

I would say the opposite, it would be very hard to play 3 after the latest version. Very different games now.

I agree, but hence why I'd pick GOW above GOW3, because it's a far better gaming experience. It's going to be a huge shock either way going from one to the other, but I think jumping into GOW3 having never played one before, you'd be at a greater disadvantage in terms of not knowing the story and gameplay mechanics than if you started with GOW, which was essentially created to be a new jumping-on point for those who had never played a GOW game before, and designed to restart the franchise. I think with a decent enough break, GOW3 could then be played further down the line.

Just my 2c anyway. I did play GOW3 way back when and did consider picking it up before the new one came out, but I felt it was probably best just to enjoy the new game itself rather than replaying the old. Picked up GOW3 when it was on PS+ but haven't brought myself to play it yet.

Looks like it'll be Horizon next so, I'll give that a bash. As regards to GOW, I did indeed get GOW III free and as I have so many games that I haven't yet played it'd make no sense to skip that and get the new one, so I'll play that first before thinking about the latest one. Many thanks for all the suggestions.

Just finished Yakuza 0. When I say finished, it took 35 hours to beat campaign and I've only 14% of the game completed.

Detroit Become Human just arrived in the post so I'm thinking that will be a nice change from slamming Yakuza thugs faces into the pavement

Just finished Detroit Become Human after picking it up last week. Great game. Was planning in trading once done but think I'll hang onto it and try a few different story paths. I was far too nice on first playthrough

Started playing God of War tonight.
missing the Blades of Athena for fighting multiple enemies. Also miss being able to see behind me

I cant stop playing GTA 5, creating mayhem. I think I got an addiction problem with this game. I tried to get away from it by playing RDR2 but it didn't work for long :(. Am I sick ?

Not at all, I often get obsessed with games and continue playing long after everyone else is gone. They've got the problem not me :)
I genuinely believe I'd still be playing COD MW2 every weekend only for the hacking & lack of anyone to shoot at

Briefly attempted the Expert+ levels in Beat Saber. Nope.

Was inches away from selling my PS4 a few weeks ago because I never play it. Went to a friend's house and played Beat saber 2 weeks ago. Myself and another friend both bough PSVR the following week after playing beat saber for a few hours. Cost a fortune for the VR, moves and games. So far I'm getting my money's worth

I cannot get the songs out of my head! All day at work I have that Angel voices going over and over :o

I've been doing ok at the expert levels but those expert+ levels are just ridiculous!

Currently playing through God of War (PS4) after starting it a few weeks ago. Really enjoying it so far, the relationship building between Kratos and Atreus is excellent. It's giving me memories of the attachment that grew between Joel and Ellie in TLoU, and Lee and Clementine in The Walking Dead Season 1.

Also putting a good few hours into Apex Legends. Never thought I'd get into a Battle Royale game but there's something about this that has me wanting to play game after game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Currently playing Tomb Raider (the first one of the new lot). I was about 2/3 of the way through and restarted it, I find when I do this I end up getting an awful lot more out of the game, and I pay more attention to the story. As somebody pointed out somewhere on this forum, it is very much like torture porn after a while, poor Lara... :pac:

Not playing half as much as I would want to (the joys of toddlers and a wife), but do plan to finish game fully and then probably move on to RDR2 (but that could be months from now the rate I'm getting play :o)

    PS3 : God of War 2 Remastered
Had played GoW 2005 before GoW 2018, so knew what to expect going in. I think it has aged quiet well, and am enjoying it.

    Vita : Persona 4 Golden
Third time trying to start this, I'll definitely get through it this time. :pac:

Picked up Tekken 7 in the last PSN sale and loving it so far. Hesitated on picking it up as some reviews less than flattering but the nostalgia idea of an updated Tekken having spent many hours of my youth playing the earlier versions won me over.

Also, Xing on the PSVR is a gorgeous and very playable puzzle game, can highly recommend it.

Started into Bloodborne last night. Currently getting my ass handed to me by a giant beast on a bridge in the first level.
Game couldn't be more cryptic about what your meant to do and where your supposed to go, thought Dark Souls was bad.
