Are you implying that Ken spending the majority of a podcast rehashing the same old points about jose mourinho is tedious? Blasphemy!

I think I might have already been skipping forward at that point

thought Duncun Castles was fairly balanced yesterday...Ken is very tedious when it comes to Jose....

If what you're looking for is the official meat-puppet of the Mendes/Mourinho axis, I suppose you could characterise him as balanced, after a fashion.

Can't understand why Mark doesn't stand in for Eoin.

Eoin really is the glue. I was disappointed he wouldn't be on the show that covered tiger. Eoin seems genuinely excited about sport when he covers it, I don't get that same buzz from murf.

I think Murph is doing okay, his delivery of scripted intros is a bit stilted, but I think he has a better rapport with Ken than when he's the third wheel.

Ah, it’s the “fight game”. If he didn’t act like that he wouldn’t have gotten the level of fame or money he currently has. I’m no MMA super fan but I hope he does well.

Could feel my IQ level dropping as I listened to McGregor in that press conference.

The podcast is a slog right now, Jesus I’m a GAA fanatic but that discussion in the pod today...zzzzzz.

Yeah, I thought Murph was decent. I think I have said it before but I like Murph more when he is presenting as he can't interrupt himself. :)

Yeah I like an analyst who acknowledges complexity and nuance, not looking to boil every situation down to a soundbite...

A nice plug by Mourinho last night for Second Captains :pac:

I think it's funny. It's so clearly put on but he has to do it cos it makes him the money. He's like a terrible actor

The Duncan Castles interview was a bit dissappointing. Given some of the outrageous nonsense he comes out with on Twitter, Ken gave him a fairly easy time of it. Bit like the Dunphy interview where everyone expected foreworks and it turned into two fellas being overly nice to each other.

To be fair to the lads, I expect they realise that they're not the BBC or Sky News. A podcast starts being too rough on guests, they'll not return a call the next time.

That Crotty interview is one of the best bits they've ever done, but I'd be amazed if we hear that lad on again, bar a workplace relations breakdown (and maybe someone from HR trying to give him a polonium milkshake).

Think that was more because Castles was unexpectedly reasonable and balanced considering how much of an imbecile he comes across as on Twitter. Ken couldn't really come out all guns blazing when he wasn't really saying anything ridiculous.

He certainly adopted a smooth and level tone, and he presents reasonably, but he was essentially absolving Jose of almost all responsibility for how Utd are performing, while simultaneously lionising the Mendes regime at Wolves as a model that Utd might adopt. He's a public relations operative masquerading as a journalist. But at least he wasn't as complete a four-star as he usually is on Twitter.

I dont think that is actually what happened in this particular conversation though.

He outlined a good few faults/issues with Jose, as well as the other context in the current situation.

TBH, i dont think its an either/or choice of who is to blame. I think there are a host of people at United to blame; Jose and Pogba are just two of that group. And i think Castles made an excellent point (that has been made by others as well) that there is a lack of football nouse in the club at the moment.

Really liked that Donald Trump vs. The NFL interview. I'd never thought there were other American football organisations apart from that Vince McMahon one.

I"m satisfied that is actually what happened, having listened to it, so we'll have to agree to differ there. He was remarkably quick to excuse anything that could have reflected negatively on his de facto client, but that's understandable in context.

His excellent point on the lack of football nous at the club is far from a new or original one, having been well canvassed about Utd since early in Moyes' management, and was brought up by Castles here to exculpate Mourinho, while comparing with the Mendes/Wolves nexus. That's notwithstanding the scarcely believeable claim that Jose was on board with signing Pogba. It reminds me of Rodgers' posturing at Liverpool that he had the final say on signings, but was simultaneously not to blame for signings. Can't be both!

But I do agree, Utd's problems don't begin and end with Mourinho, notwithstanding that he is one of them.

Random query, but does anyone know who Ken was talking about when he did that Big Brother spoof: " He loved Brendan Rogers.":P

I must say Ken's oven glove analogy was the funniest thing on the podcast in a while. It's not often it makes you burst out laughing while listening in the car on your own!
