    I was told im going to paid monthly, so lets say I start oct 1st do I have to work a month in advance also ? Will it be december before I get my first paycheck??

    Normally it means you work a month in advance so if you start October 1st you'd get paid at the end of October

    Usually there's some sort of cut off point when it comes to paying wages.

    For example, the accounts person who pays wages might run a report on October 20 to see who is on the payroll that month.

    So if you joined after October 20, you would miss the cut off.

    Because you started work on October 1, I would think it's very likely you will get paid at the end of October.

    You can check with your manager for confirmation.
