    Want a 100hp engine for a wood chipper that I want to make more portable wat make to go for. Truck or tractor engine

    You'd be better off buying an engine powered chipper and fitting it to your setup on a skid or frame.

    Trying to mate a pto powered chipper to an engine would be very tricky. You'd have to have a correctly sized gearbox and clutch installed aswell.

    Easier and probably cheaper to get a ready made unit that you can fit to whatever chassis you want it on.

    Needs to be tractor I think for the governor type. Otherwise it will die back under load...unless you get a truck with cruise control!

    Any cummins 6 cyclinder are good and dependable . BT5.9 or the likes. Relatively simple design. But from a drive point of view id say it would be challenging to mate the chipper to an engine in a homemade job . Good luck with it.

    True. An ungoverned engine would be no use. It needs to be governed. Any industrial engine like from a generator or machine of some sort would suit.

    But as said, it would be fair less hassle to buy an engined chipper rather than do build one.
