I bought a 2004 Zafira about 6 weeks ago. For the last month, its been making a whirring noise on starting in the morning (like an extractor fan) which goes away once the engine starts to heat up. I looked it up online and it appears to be fairly common issue with the electric steering pump that is not to serious.

Has anyone come across that before? Should I get it replaced?

That could be very costly. I had one that went. It could be overheating and a fire risk, depending on the setup. Mine was the newer 2007 version and the car was scrapped rather than fix, because of where the parts were located.
