Hi,
AA home rescue told me alternator needs replacing.
How much should I expect to pay for Ford alternator or spurious alternator, ballpark.

Will you be attempting this job yourself?

Micksgarage seems to suggest between 200-300 for non-ford parts. You'd have to contact ford for a price from them.

If you are not doing this yourself it would make most sense for your mechanic to get the parts.

On what grounds I wonder did the AA make this assessment on?.
It may only need a regulator, a auto electrician should be able to tell you this.
