Online harassment

    A user who has a reputation for harassing, threatening and hacking people on a forum has been spamming my account with pornography and yesterday he hacked into my account and changed my password and posted spam messages on the board. I was able to regain access but he has made accounts pretending to be me on multiple websites and is sending me extremely homophobic messages.

    The forum admin refuses to do anything about him. I'm worried he is going to try access more of my accounts.

    Should I contact the Gardai about this? Is this legal?

    You could try spur the forum into action by reporting or threatening to report them to the data protection commissioner to see how the person was able to access your personal information from the forum.
