Maybe it's me but I dont think it looks that bad! there is rules for casual water. Obv have placing too.

It is an interesting one if they need to make it 54 holes with the cut for the top 30. Gonna be some pretty annoyed lads that are left at 31-35.

The pictures are after the rain stopped yesterday morning when they were trying to get ready. It was down for pretty much the day yesterday.

    Trust me it was unplayable.

They would never postpone the final round like they did yesterday unless it was absolutely necessary. The lost in viewership between prime time Sunday night and Monday morning is disastrous for them.

Twas the remnants of storm Gordon that affected the gulf of Mexico states late last week. There'd be a fair truck of rain in it.

They'd had an inch of rain overnight between Saturday and Sunday. Then after a short break it just rained continuously from Sunday morning in to the early hours of this morning. They were expecting another inch of rain at least to fall in that period. The description was of soggy tee boxes and rivers running down the fairways. The front nine was better than the back nine apparently.

Bit of a break this morning, but scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and tomorrow.

If they did start, and thunderstorms delayed today, and again tomorrow, would they go to Wednesday? Once they start they must complete?

Thunderstorms will be passing, so they might have to suspend play for a couple of hours, but it won't mean a complete suspension for the day. Unless they are rolling in, one after the other. But that's very unlikely.

Anywhere showing coverage of the golf today? Sky don't seem to have it and just turned on the golf channel in US but they don't seem to have coverage either I might check Canada.

Edit: golf channel have it 10 am et so guess sky will have coverage later too.

Looking slightly hairy for Spieth, he's right on the bubble now, sitting at projected 30th if things finish as they stand now.

Has a double risk to him too. One of the conditions to maintain your PGA tour card is to play a minimum of 25 events in a year. Including the BMW & the Ryder Cup that puts him on 24 events, so if he doesn't qualify, he won't hit his quota.

Supposedly its never happened before, and he wouldn't likely lose his card, he'd be given a large fine/suspension

I think it’s that he’s in danger of falling foul of the new rule that affected Molinari before the Open that time, not adding a tournament to your schedule that you hadn’t played in the previous 4 years I think it is. Once you fulfill this requirement you don’t hsve to play 25 events, think the number is 15 but not 100 per cent on that. They’ll just fine him and say don’t let it happen again I’d guess.

This is shaping up to be a great finish

Rain pelting down again and 27 so far have finished. Need another 8 to finish to force it on to Tuesday if it gets suspended again.

Past the point of no return now, so it'll finish out as a 72 hole tournament. Whenever it finishes.

And absolutely clutch from Rose. That man has some bottle

    Play-off time lads. :)

Keegan Bradley and Justin Rose. Never thought I'd be saying that in this context. ;)

Very clever by Bradley to Let Rose get to world no 1 before trying to win :pac:

Winner of FedEx will get €15million from 2019 on. Also points system scrapped for Tour Championship in favour of stroke based system with the leader starting at -10. Silly IMO... starting the leader at -10 could be very anti-climatic.

PGA Tour announces changes to scheme for points race, playoff format

    This bit is also farcical....

"The winner of the Tour Championship, based on the staggered scoring formula, will be credited with an official PGA Tour win even if he did not shoot the lowest score over 72 holes."

Wonder why they are increasing the purse so much...its not like players have lost interest.

Maybe part of it is that there's one less playoff event maybe?

All it is about is generating more revenue from advertising as everyone will have a better chance to win which will increase viewing numbers and nothing about the best golfer of the year winning it.

Realistic chance of a player outside top 10 in winning fedex is slim.

The whole Fed Ex Cup playoffs are anti climactic. The best event of the post PGA championship run in to the tour championship is the event prior to the playoffs as players battling out to save their PGA tour card is always exciting

I don't get how they think paying the players an even bigger sum for winning the playoffs will help the playoffs as the prospect of someone getting paid even more money is not exactly a reason why people tune in to watch any sporting event.

The end of the final major is essentially the end of the golf season which is why I think having the last major in mid July is a poor move akin to what the GAA done with the All Irelands this year.
