Just noticed that Shauffele has a very narrow stance with the driver.

They're still waiting for Jason to reply to the tweet they sent him. :)

In other news Tiger birdies the first, Bubba and Brooks have three birdies after six and DJ has shaved his beard off. With a kitchen knife it appears. :)

Heard a few comments now saying there is a huge amount of rain due at the course tomorrow and more on Monday. Might well be a 54 hole tournament!

Will I jinx it once again by saying 59 watch??

Actually thought we might see one given the conditions and seeing the perfect starts Rory and tiger got

Will be wet all day - talking about moving the teetimes way forward in the morning and doing a similar two tee start with 3 balls to try and get them in before it gets too wet

Shaping up to be a great last day. Lots of brilliant players all bunched around the top

Mad that Jordan Spieth might not make it to the Tour Championship. Currently at 31 in the standings with, of all people, Keegan Bradley at 30. If he can put together another low round today, he'll probably make it, but there's a lot of golf to be played and others like Putnam, Armour and An with a relistic chance of getting past him.

Could be waiting a bit for the fourth round. Delayed due to weather. No word on when it will start, was due to kick off at 7am local (currently 6am).

Thats down for the day, non stop. Suspended now so can't see how it'll even start. Its not even that heavy.

Yeah. The whole area is being absolutely deluged. This is the radar map. Philly is roughly the location of the golf course. The wind is from the NE, so if any clearance comes, it'll be from that direction.

Can't see it hapening tbh. Radar is showing unremitting rain and forecast is between 95% and 100% rain all day. Monday's forecast is not much better at 80% plus thunderstorms.

It would be an awful shame if it was to end this way. Was really looking forward to Rory having a go at catching Rose.

No surprise play was abandoned. Nearly could have made that call hours ago with the forecast. Not even much better tomorrow.

Big shame if we don’t get a final round. Was set up for a cracking final round.

If Rose is declared the winner, does he become world number 1??

Yep. He's the outright winner, so gets the ranking points.

Is there any adjustment made to ranking points for shortened tournaments when it's 54 holes

Only if it's reduced to 36

Any updates ? What’s the likely scenario now

They'll try to play tomorrow and based on how that goes the rules outlined above will apply.

They'll try tomorrow. If half the field gets finished they can go into Tuesday. Otherwise 54 holes.

Lucky theres no tournie this week

Good thing too. A lot of rain could hit the area of East Lake this coming weekend with Hurricane Florence in the area and another storm coming up in the Gulf Of Mexico. Hopefully will all have blown over before the Tour Championship

Tee times are set for the morning. Starting a half hour later than scheduled for today and the same dual start on the 1st and 10th. Last tee time is 9:20am.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,777 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Just seen that they are saying that if they don't think half the field can't get their rounds finished tomorrow, they'll call it at 54 holes. It's unlikely, but it is a possibility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,777 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Currently not raining there and hasn't been for a couple of hours. Chance of rain starts to increase at 8am at 30% and up to 60% by 10am. It really depends now on whether they can get the water off the course and get play started at 7:30am. Feel for the greenkeepers who've probably been out on the course since the rain stopped.

Is the rain absolutely catastrophic stuff or what? Unless the course is completely flooded surely they should be playing in very bad rain.
