Does Term Time affect redundancy payment?

    Hi
I am currently working a "Term Time" calendar ie where I get the summers off, but my salary is prorated to get 9 months of payments over the 12 months of the calendar year.
I also may have the opportunity to take redundancy soon. Does anyone know if the redundancy payment is based on my " term time" salary or my salary if I was to work a standard 12 month calendar year?
    Thanks
    Maura

Isn't term time just a fancy way of saying part-time?

In your case you work part-time (only 9 months of the year) but it could be 3 days a week or something like that instead.

I cannot find anything in the Irish Statute Book about term time.

To qualify for redundancy you must have worked continuously for your employer for at least 104 weeks.

According to the law, continuous service is not broken if you were off work through illness, agreed absence, holidays or lay off, so I think you're OK.
