I only ordered mine yesterday, but they did say it would be the end of the month before they had any in.

You're all lucky enough. I remember everyone trying to get their hands on a Gear S3 frontier at launch a couple of years ago and there were about 4 in the whole country.

Got mine from Harveys earlier today. Very nice watch, great fit on my wrist. Love it :D
Pre-ordered last week for in store collection.

No double wireless charger yet though, end of the month apparently.

Love that I can reply to whatsapp and fb messenger on it, but I can't launch those apps on their own without someone messaging me first.

Same with SMS unless you have a Samsung too.

There are apps in the Samsung store that apparently sync WhatsApp to let you see all messages but I've never tried them as they look really dodgy.

You get a Free year long subscription to Under Armour fitness apps like MapMyRun, MyFitnessPal with the watch :)

Also if anyone could recommend any useful apps that would be great.

Used S Health in the gym today through the watch and some sets/reps weren't counted, I can't find a way to amend the workout after the time which is unfortunate unless anyone knows a way to do this?

Has anyone gotten their order from DID over the last few days? I received a delivery today but was disappointed to find the Duo charger and no Watch! Charger looks great by the way. 😀

I'm the same - pre-ordered with DID; I have the charger but not watch yet. I'm raging.

    I've nothing yet.
The last thing I heard from them, was on the 28th of August, saying that it was due in on September 7th.
I emailed them today, but have heard nothing back.

I spent 20 minutes on that Live Chat on the DID website and was timed out twice and got no responses. I also cant log into my account on the website because it says it does not recognise my e-mail address, despite setting up the account with the same address:mad: In fairness to DID, I imagine they took a lot of pre-orders and are backed up but it certainly is frustrating!:(

I'd rather they updated me anyway. If they came back, and said that there is a delay, at least I'd know not to be waiting around for it.
Surely they know how many they got in, and who's getting them

For the few that have received the Galaxy watch ,what's battery life like and how does it compare in size to the other Samsung watch's.

Had not heard anything by yesterday (Sunday 9th), no email from DID and no change on the order on their website ("Processing"). Tried that Chat - moved from one agent to the other, no-one replied.

So I thought I'd try the phone number that came on the confirmation email, rang, answered straight off & was told that the watch was ready for collection in-store ! Was emailed collection receipt immediately & got both the watch & the Wireless charger Duo (class act). :):)

Very happy with the watch, not too big - small bit larger than previous, great display.
Have been doing a lot installing apps, faces , setting up etc, so hard to comment on the battery life - but does seem a big improvement

Cool, I might try that this morning. I rang the Galway store on Friday, and they didnt seem to know much. I'll try the phone number later on

Is the wireless charger no longer part of the deal with DID ?
Was going to order today but see no mention it on the site.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,405 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

They said the wireless charger was only if pre-ordered before the 6th.

I charged mine on Friday night. Put it on my wrist at approximately 10am on Saturday. I have the screen set to only be on when I'm looking at it, and that makes a massive difference to the battery life. I take it off when i sleep but use it regular enough during the day. The battery is currently at 52% which I'm very very happy with.

    Tried ringing DID twice today.
First time, I was left in a queue for ages, so hung up. Fair enough
Second time, in a queue for a few minutes, someone answered but didnt acknowledge the call. I hear talking in the background, but no one talking to me. Eventually, they hung up on me.
Pretty horrific call support. Putting me off buying from them again

At least they have acknowledged my tweet giving out. Hopefully that might get me somewhere. All I want is an update

If you're selling the gear sport, let me know, might be interested.

Finally got some feedback from DID.
They're waiting on delivery of the next batch. They expect to get more in on Thursday/Friday, and hope to have them delivered to the stores by Saturday.

I just got an email from DID saying they expect to have stock week beginning 17th September and will ship then

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,405 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I was told the end of the month, but annoyingly it now says shipped within 5 days on their site. Maybe i'll give them a shout.

With Qualcomms new Snapdragon 3100 chipset specifically built for Smartwatches now being released. id be inclined to hold out until the new year to see what comes out. The first watches should hit the market around Oct.

This chipset has the ability to specifically run the watch in multiple power modes meaning battery life should be greatly extended.

That's what I'm thinking too. The Gear S3 has been brilliant and still going strong so in no mad rush to change just yet (even though I really want that new Skagen).

Any/many new watch's rumoured to be released with that new chipset in October/January ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 590 ✭✭✭ldr

Apart from the look of the galaxy watch or the gear, my huawei is still doing pretty well.
Looking forward to see what this new chipset will bring

According to the AC podcast I was listening to earlier, they're expecting new ones with the 3100 around March/April. The chip was officially launched yesterday.

Montblanc Summit 2 due to be launched next month according to a number of websites.
Likely to be pricey but not as much as Tag
